strong dota player mental edit: this was sick btw, while i was watching this I was just like "what if" and opened slimes stream and he was live, watched him solo q like 4-5 games he has some good tendancies and if he can shed some of his dota-isms and learn some champs he'll get good (just depends how much work he puts in as for most people but I can see the markers of a decent player)

I think people forget that when learning league, every interaction is a limit test bc you are just learning about damage thresholds. I think the saddest thing is that Lud genuinely didn't have very good people starting out to play with him. When you don't have fun in a game like that when you start out, I can only imagine how it feels. Ever since he started playing he's been obsessed with being good, but truthfully speaking, he shouldn't be. Like instead of focusing on the fact that he has make a mistake he should be focusing on the mistakes themselves. Chat isn't helping AT ALL too. It's disgusting to see that people tend to flame and say crazy things the first moment they find someone even slightly worse than them. Like seriously, if you read chat more than 50% of them are typing shit that doesn't make sense at all. I saw someone type "HIT THE TENTACLES" and like... bro???? Anyone who has ever played enough knows how shit the advice is. Like sure the laner should hit tentacles, but wtf do you want the jungler to do? The only real advice I saw is "dodge ult, get heal cut", but for a new player like Lud this is hard and it WAS hard for every person at some point. Let the man have his fun learning the game, don't just spam "you're bad" in chat. You're just giving birth to more toxicity after he's been exposed to T1 firsthand already. Slime has a pretty good mental about it and I honestly would like to see them play together more. Maybe sooner or later his way of thinking about it would get to Lud too.

to beat Illaoi poke her and bait out her E once her E is on cooldown that's when u destroy her tentacles. then you again bait her E out and that's when you can engage try to stay out of range of her tentacles that are already placed and ur good any champ that can nullify her ult or just out-poke her should beat her. and if you get caught by her e you should still be fine at early levels cause she doesn't do enough dmg to destroy the "aspect" in time yet but at later levels you wanna take 1v1's. Illaoi is a weird champ where as long as her E or R is off cooldown she wants to get ganked. Good champions against her are Mordekaiser when she ults wait until she W's and while she is in the air ult her and you should win as long as you hit ur abilities. Teemo, cause you out-poke her and run away because of her low mobility she can't keep up, and that same mobility issue is why Irelia is also good against her. lastly, I recommend Trundle his Q decreases enemy attack damage decreasing the healing Illaoi gets from her tentacles letting you out damage her healing.

Slime is completely correct about indicators. Imo unless youre Emerald+ quick cast without indicators is hardly giving you any advantage. Mid-latter players get very little use out of the 1% speed boost to your casts and it would 100% better to be more consistent with skillshots.

in the most inoffensive way, there's no one *big* thing he's doing wrong. it's a general gap of knowledge and know-how of everything in the game, as he's only been with it for about a month. most players in the match have been with it for years, and slime has plenty more experience that transfers over from playing DOTA 2

Last I checked bramble only worked against the autos. Tentacle slam healing is unaffected. But yeah, he shouldn't always go liandries every game.

Illaoi into voli, mumu is going to be a 100% hit chance on E is the illaoi has any brain as both champions need to run at her to get their damage off / be pulled into her. she can buffer he on voli Q or amumu Q resulting in the exact same play every time. This gank is just not worth delaying your full clear and putting yourself behind for a chance that you can kill illaoi. That is all youre going for. There is no getting voli ahead in this matchup. illaoi can have 5 deaths and still solo kill volibear who has 5 kills 0 deaths.
