Historical film of Ashtabula Harbor

copy of this given to me. 1957 home movies of PRR PY&A docks. These were the docks on the west side of Ashtabula Harbor. The PRR followed the NYC tracks down to the Harbor but went along west side of river rather than crossing it. The only railroad remnants are the PRR engine house and yard office building on 32nd st near West ave. Film credit: R. This is awesome! The Coast Guard station (is it still there?) looks exactly the same. My mom used to work for a place on Bridge Street that delivered groceries and supplies to the freighters. A lot has changed down there. I think there's hope for Ashtabula yet, with its recent revitalization and the coming pig iron plant. Still a nice place to visit!

I think its great to see ashtabula before it was a drug infested community. Hard working men on boats so they can provide for their families. Back when there was an American dream.
