With the international interest in good Swedish modern design, is there any chance Ikea might reissue some of the classic designs such as the Cavelli chair? I'm sure there would be a market for it even at a higher price point. There is some lovely stuff in this video.

It's possible IKEA would do just that. They reissued the leaf table because of high demand.

There was a time when Ikea furniture was attractive and made well. Sad to say, today it lacks quality and is mostly ugly junk.

Exactly! Back in the days IKEA actually sold high quality furniture!

But in this days decoration it’s disposable, people need to change it time to time, so the value of the furniture and quality needs to be reduced. Still Ikea maintain the quality in design, to me the actual products are revolutionary. May be now with all this new movements about recycling and trying to ‘save the planet’ things need to be change again and review the disposable attitude.

I just found a pair of Niels Gammalgaard designed chairs being given away for free, here in Australia. They’re in great condition with a little rust. I’m going to restore them.
