Good on you for taking the young ones out with you. Rabbit is interesting. I understand from a nutritional perspective it is extremely low fat. Good video mate 🇦🇺 🇳🇿
@Lukeslittletribe10 ай бұрын
Love seeing the little ones out there getting into it. I could imagine it wouldn't pack much punch with the nurtritional value. Not a heap of meat on it either .. Deer or roo would be a better option for wild meat. Thanks for watching.
@david6920-r6z10 ай бұрын
@@Lukeslittletribe yeah, folklore suggests your body uses more energy processing the protein in rabbit than it gets from the meat overall, due to lack of fat. So ok with other carbs and fat but not great if that’s all you have. Random fact. But good to see you tried it . I have made a few rabbit curries in my day
@Lukeslittletribe10 ай бұрын
I think that's the trick with rabbit hey ... cook it alongside other things (stews, curries etc) Thanks heaps for that bit of info .. I always like learning stuff like that for future videos@@david6920-r6z

welcome back Luke!... wild garlic and any fat, or oil while it's on the spit!... but if you really want to make a difference, dig a hole, burn it well first, then wrap the rabbit on baking paper, and foil, cover it with dirt and start a small fire on top of it, keep a small fire burning over the length of the package... slow cook it for a couple of hrs and then surprise everybody with an unbelievable meal... you can add herbs and spices that you like to it, also rice or potatoes... a really ''surprise meal''...
@Lukeslittletribe10 ай бұрын
That sounds bloody awesome. I love the idea of not leting anyone know there is a rabbit under there, and surprise everyone when you dig it up 😂 Thanks for watching.

Nice one Luke! After watching this I found a couple of photos of Mum and Dad taking me and my sister blackberrying at Tatong Creek near Benalla in the early 1970s. Your videos take me back to a simpler time - it's so great to see you giving your kids the same experiences that I grew up with. Looking forward to seeing what else you get up to in 2024 👍

There is something special about picking blackberries as a kid. I remember growing up on a house that had a bunch of farm paddocks surrounding us, and we would pick them all the time. As I said in the vid .. Terrible weed, fantastic fruit 😂 Thanks for watching mate.
