As of April 1st, 2024, Lou Conter, the last of her surviving crew, has passed away at 102. Her soul is no longer bound to her wreckage and she's finally free. I don't think ive ever been so happy to see her finally find the peace she earned so long ago yet so sad knowing she had to suffer for so long.

Both are considered tragedies for not being preserved, but navies at the time didnt preserve old ships and only kept them if they might be useful in a future war, and both were beyond fucked due to battle damage and wear and tear. Why scrap Vanguard i'm not exactly sure. It was literally a yacht that didnt do anything.

Arizona will always be the saddest ship in the entire game. Not only was she brutally killed by the Ijn but shes had to suffer for so long because of it. Her soul is still bound to the wreckage and the only way she'll be free is when the last survivor passes away. Until then,she can always rely on my states battleship to keep the darkness surrounding the harbor from ever reaching her or her sleeping crew. I just hope the last man can hold on long enough to see SSN-803 launch. For those wondering who 803 is,its Arizona's new hull number ,the first one shes been given since that terrible day. But if you ask me her hull number is and always will be BB-39

When you mentioned New Jersey's fact & her sisters, if USS Wisconsin ever gets added, I would want her to have either a cybernetic arm or cybernetic legs. In reference to her 1956 collision with USS Eaton, in which her bow would need to be repaired, so the bow of the incomplete USS Kentucky (BB-66) was removed and used to repair Wisconsin.

Every single ship in AL, that existed in reality, has her distinctive features/fate portrayed in the game. All ships come equipped with their original gears, their clothes and riggings are in close connection to the real ships, and they either have a skill or mention an event that took place in real life, some of them being very sad: - Arizona's tears and comments reference to her sailors that lost their lives at Pearl Harbor - Amagi's sickness and coughing reference to her keel breaking during the Great Kantō earthquake while she was in dock - Mutsu asking the commander to help her inspect the 3rd turret reference to the explosion of her 3rd turret ammo magazine which broke the ship in half - U-110 giving commander her secret codes because she trusts him reference to her losing the codes for the Enigma machine - U-556 affection towards Bismarck because she couldn`t fulfill her oath of protection (out of ammo) when the Royal navy was hunting KMS Bismarck - U-1206 mentioning her little accident reference to .. we don`t talk about that .... and waaaaay too many more to list. You will learn a lot of naval history from this game while having fun. Also, since it's a waifu game, size of guns (or firepower) = size of booba to keep it historical accurate.

Jean Bart’s skill that buffs the volleys of her first main gun is probably a reference to her only having one active main gun during Operation torch. The gun in particular (quad 380mm) also has 2 references. It fires 2 shells, then another two, unlike the KGV class main guns (quad 356) that shoots all 4 shells at once. This is due to the IRL gun turret being divided into two, and gunnery officers would fire one side of a turret at a time. Additionally, when you put this gun on richelieu, theres a small chance of her only firing 7 shells instead of 8 shells in her salvo, due to an accident that causes one gun to explode (fact check me on this last one please!) Theres just so much overlap between a cool anime game and real life. I love it

I always wanted somebody to make a video like this, thank you! Looking forward to next part if you make it. Although I hope the music will be lower and voice easier to hear 😊 I will share some tidbits I know myself. Would be cool if other people shared more as well Somebody once told me that Laffey is sleepy is cause she used to do a lot of night operations which I find very cute. Also Indianapolis used to have a nuclear sign on the bomb she sits on in her splash art in reference to carrying nuclear weapons on her. U-1206, iirc, has a voice line about clicking a wrong button and panicking, definitely a reference to the toilet incident U boats having wolfpack buffs is really cool. Also I wonder if NP ships having their first skinline being about being imprisoned is a reference to how Soviet Union didn’t like the navy and vice versa Not really historical, but Kirov has a russian accent in japanese which i find a very nice detail added by her VA.

The worst part is that albacore hit with a torpedo, but didn't sink her. Taihou's fuel tanks spilled a bunch of gas and in the crews inexperience they vented it through the whole ship instead of using the fire suppressant systems. Somewhere it sparked and she blew herself up. I think that's also part of the yandre thing; she burns with too much passion and is her own worst enemy.
