I am also new to historical romance. The genre seems to be under attack right now- lots of authors are not getting their contracts renewed. So, we gotta do what we can to make sure publishers know that this genre has a purpose and a place- and we demand they keep their hands off a genre we love! 🥳❤

Lisa Kleypas and Tessa Dare are the queens of this genre! I am still in the middle of the Hathaways, it is taking me longer because I don’t like the audiobooks…excited to continue the series and get to the rest of the stories 😊! I am trash for Cassandra’s and Evie’s book! I hope LK will write another series following more of the wallflower children. I think she set that up in the ravenels, fingers crossed she will get a deal 😊!

If you like Lisa Kleypas, I highly recommend to try the Bedwin’s series by Mary Balogh including the 2 prequels books, all the series are interconnected like the Wallflowers, Hathaways and Ravenels. Try also Julie Anne Long, Laura Lee Guhrke, Minerva Spencer, Scarlett Scott, Caroline Lee, Amalie Howard, Erica Ridley, Elizabeth Hoyt, Loretta Chase, Amy Jarecki, Lauren Smith, Merry Farmer. I have read 31/43 books of your list. Historical romance is my main genre!

@@Therry-historical Oh wow, thank you so much for the recommendations!! Do you know any "older" generation historical romances from the 90s and early 2000s that is worth to read? I would like to branch out a little bit now that I have wrapped the more famous ones...you are clearly on top of this genre ☺
