Probably not the first one to notice this, but that last title by Lorraine Heath sounds similar to “Overboard,” one of the best rom-coms of all time! Definitely want to check that one out! 👍

Yes! That was my first thought…Now I want to watch Overboard.😂

It’s definitely similar to Overboard, which is why I had picked it up. “While the Duke Was Sleeping” is another one that I found that appears to be based on a rom-com movie (and the book I thought was so good!).

These are all such great selections! In addition to the authors/books you mentioned, Elisa Braden, Julie Anne Long, Sarah Maclean, and Evie Dunmore are a few other authors that I feel would be great for people just getting into the genre. For those who are more into dark romance, I think Kerrigan Byrne, Elizabeth Hoyt, and Jennifer Ashley may be a good place to start as well. :)

Not a newbie to the genre, although I only started reading them this year because of Bridgerton, BUT OMG I WANT TO READ ALL OF THESE. As you were talking about each book, I'd search it up online to try to find it. I live in Asia so it's pretty hard to find specific historical romance books - BUT! I found a store selling the one by Erica Ridley - it sounds super fun so I might pick it up! Out of all of them, the Duchess Hunt sounds so fun! Hope it's available here soon :) For those new to the genre, I suggest books 4-5 of the Hathaway series by Lisa Kleypas. For me, I read the first, but didn't enjoy it as much despite the hype. But books 4 and 5 are so good! Love in the afternoon has become one of my favorite historical romances - for me, since the books follow a family of siblings - I find their family more endearing than the Bridgertons. Julie Garwood's Scottish historical romances are really fun to read too - The Secret was my first Scottish historical and it was so entertaining and I was hooked!

Many of these books are way too sexually explicit...if you are going to suggest them, at the very least warn us, not everyone likes books like that. Especially since "Beginners" or "new to the genre" could also mean YOUNG. I do like your recommendations most of the time, but maybe give us a heads-up as to the "sizzle" level of a story. You could rate the books on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being 'clean and wholesome' and 5 being 'too hot to handle' Thanks!

Beginner just means you’ve never read any before! It has nothing to do with the content actually in the book. I read adult romances on my channel and almost all of them have explicit content in them. If you’re looking for books with no explicit scenes, my channel really isn’t the place for you! Sorry!

Great recommendations! I love most of those books. I need to read more Lorraine Heath but not sure where to continue. I read her new series and The Hellions of Havisham series. What series should I read next?
