Historical Site Of Battle Of Kohima//Kohima Tank Park//Kohima Nagaland

A short glimpse of a War tank at a memorial site turned into a #WarMemorial tank park at kohima,a place of tourist attraction, which was left abandoned in may 6th 1944( #battleofkohima #SecondWorldWar ) by the British under their commanding officer Major Ezra Rhodes after the tank careered down the hill, lost a track and crashed against a tree and came under enemy fire., When they were climbing the kohima ridge to support troops of the 2nd division who were attacking Japanese positions on Carisson hill. After the battle the 2nd Division requested that the tank remain at the exact position from which it had to ne abandoned as a memorial to the heroism and sacrifice for all those who fought in the battle.
