Yeah I also commented about Athena: 0:48 As a History Major Sopphomore from Brazil... NO. Athena is the Goddess of Wisdom, Warfare, and Handicraft. The God of WAR, is Ares. Ares is the God of War and Courage. Athena's Warfare refers to battle strategies, whereas Ares refers to full on combat by bravery. So for example, the Trojan Horse would not be a Ares' (God of War) move, but a Athena's (Goddess of Warfare/Strategy) move.

You both forget that Thor is the *norse* god of war. The Kratos reply is not only wrong about who the greek god of war is, but would only apply if the original comment were about Ares, the greek god of war, and not Thor, the norse one.

Have you tried telling cuirassiers, reiters, hussars and lancers, who all operated long past the death of tercio formation and pike and shot, that their armors, which protected them from matchlocks, were made ineffective by crossbows?

@@wilberwhateley7569 No less than longbows. Plate armor can repel crossbow bolts and bow arrows fairly well.

@@TheArklyte The problem with weapons like matchlocks and crossbows was accuracy and load time, not penetration power - when the munitions made contact with the armor, it was *very* effective at piercing the plate. The issue was one of volume and the invention of flintlock muskets corrected this issue by allowing for more efficient loading processes that permitted infantry to fire in ranks. Face it - the crossbow might not have immediately made plate armor obsolete, but it was certainly an omen of what was coming.

@@wilberwhateley7569 my dear, crossbow became widespread only when firearms entered the scene and even then in most parts of the world it was skipped entirely. It had only 2 qualities above the bow - it needs a week of training max AND it can be used by much weaker user. That's all. And matchlock had the same advantages and more. And no, crossbow ricochets off from plate armor.
