Thanks for tuning in. The City has changed a bit since covid but it has really grown from the 90s. Hopefully this will help the tourism out.

My grandparents had a river house on the Colorado river for all of our family to visit growing up. We loved bullhead city. Playing in the arcades while parents gambled at the Colorado bell. We’d take the boat across the river to Nevada to chill at the cove. Spent a lot of time there growing up. We’re sad they sold the place a while back. I actually searched for history of bullhead city lol. Pretty cool. Never knew about the rock or the path through to Oregon from the colony’s. And the river was used as a trade route. Awesome

@@arttaggerr2233 That is true. Most of the town was shut down when the president flew in for a quick pep rally. It was interesting seeing so many people crowding the airport.

Just a note here, the casino's are on the Nevada side not in AZ. But they are just across the river. Many new people who relocated to BHC came from Calif.

I did notice that when visiting family in BHC. It's probably the cost of living and freedom you don't get in California.

Moving there as soon as I can, always wanted to move to Arizona and after all my years in Massachusetts I’ve had enough! And bullhead city seems like the perfect place, and btw I will not bring any Massachusetts mentality with me, lol. I want to travel (RV) the surrounding states, spend time in the mighty Colorado river, enjoy the weather and start a small business. So watch out Arizona, I’m coming.

Back in the day before the expensive park fees, when all was free and before it became closed off us locals used to jump off the bridge behind the damn. I remember when it was all you had to cross the river. My grandma had a really bad car wreck on it. But ysa nice video!

Raise a family??? Are we talking about the same place??? 😬😑Shoot in 1989 it was not. And we did not have all the bars around the schools. Casinos or a tiny movie theater, and the skating rink for fun. Not to mention the dangerous river! The lake was bad if you were to young and could not swim. There was nothing to do but bad stuff. And it just has houses now instead of all mobiles and trailers. With all the big stores! And some new parks. People drugs etc is still the same. But really cool video. I remember when they built the bridge in front of the damn.

Lived & mtbiked the archeology/geology it's all over. An archeology history book from the museum fills in 8000-4000yrs ago it dried from forested hills to flood agriculture by ~4000. The climbs to hills above town have sandy beaches from a flood depth lake in spring from the hills upstream of Havasu dammed the Colorado to that height. It's why they only built ramadas near the river to get cleaned away planting crops as the water receded. The casino is on Tribal lands farming still a mainstay. The Mojaves ran to SanDiego in 3 days to hang out & collect seashells, very tough, like the Tarahumara. On rides on roads & dirt tracks fairly easy to find debitage, chips & flakes many jasper few obsidian, parallel to the railroads went upvalley to peaks, worth it, epic rides. 🍺

Well, CalNevAri is right up the hill from BHC. No joke. It's actually a town nearby. Coming in from Las Vegas, you'll see Harry Reid's hometown of Searchlight Nevada. A real speed trap town. You can't even coast through it without exceeding the ever-changing speed limit. They used to have a cop car by the McDonald's with an (get this) inflatable "cop" sitting in the driver's seat to scare people in to driving slow. It's still a speed trap town.
