History of Afghanistan S02 E07 | A Rebellion in Kabul | Faisal Warraich

#British forces under General Frederick Roberts invaded Kabul to avenge the attack on the British Residency in #Kabul. Gen. Roberts’ mission was to bring Afghanistan under British rule. He deposed Afghan Amir Yakub Khan and sent him in exile to British India. Many Afghans were hanged, and their villages were burnt. However, the Afghan population rebelled against Gen. Roberts’ rule in Kabul. Then the battle of the Sherpur Cantonment started in earnest. This was the turning point of the 2nd Anglo-Afghan war.
