Wew lad the political discourse in this country. Riots, salt, people thinking the world is going to end. This is really just one chapter in a long line of American politics. So sit back and enjoy the multi part series on the American parties.

***** In all honesty, I much prefer vocational programs for post-junior high school students that caters to their preferences rather than throwing numerous sh*t at them not gaining their interest. Dropout rates would probably be even lower if students had the chance to study more of their criteria and not what is recommended by the government (math and reading being the primary requirements). Not similar to Federalists but education for the past generations are more of "control" -type atmosphere.

It's a result of the two parties trying to garner votes from different sects than what they were prior in the mid and late-twentieth century. For example: republicans reached out to the evangelicals, democratics reached out to minorities.

Gary Johnson's Libertarian party kind of cost Clinton Flordia, since that 2% likely would've gone to her had he not run. It's called the spoiler effect -- once two major parties are large enough, it's pretty much impossible for a third party to run without giving a major candidate a leg-up. We had so many different parties pre-1860 because the country was young enough; now it's much harder with First Past the Post to get third parties in the spotlight.

Great video! Jackson himself deserves an in-depth look. You are a student of history so you understand when I say that the judgement of Jackson in modern times is typically based on surface information alone. He was pro-slavery and anti-Indian and immediately he is evil, but when you look a little deeper you invariably find those hidden gems of his personality and his life. He was and still is the quintessential American. Good and evil. The problem is that we modern people do not take the good with the bad, we just take the bad and that is historically irresponsible. So it is my hope that if you ever do delve more deeply into this subject that you continue on your path of truth and factual information, because it is too easy to become bogged down in the lesser angels of Andrew Jackson's nature.
