Nice video! Though I couldn't help notice that you stated Jihad meant "holy war." A common misconception due to Western media, the term actually means "to struggle", or "to strive".

Wow! My goodness, what a fabulously beautiful room. I love that room. It's huge and it has high ceilings, and there is lots of light. Who are the Saudi Arabian interior decorators and designers and architecrs? Their architecture and interior design interests me greatly. Just gorgeous. What marvelous hospitality. Sincerely, gospelgirlone

Great video, but the (mihrab) is directed toward mekkah (ka'aba) not toward east.
@Rumi1028 Жыл бұрын
Agree the mihrab is pointing towards the Ka’aba (Mekkah) no matter where you are located geographically. So in general if you are in Syria it will south , Pakistan, Iran ie West from Morocco it will be East and from Yemen it will be North.

When you talk about Sheikh Lotf Allah mosque, well the one you are pointing at is the Shah Mosque, and that gigantic courtyard (Naghsh-e Jahan Square) does not belong to the mosque, its the public square, the Shah mosque has its own dedicated courtyard within its boundaries, Sheikh Lotf Allah mosque is the small one on the east side of the Naghsh e Jahan square. Hope this helps. The video is awesome btw

Great lecture. The catenary is amazing. I belive that the Cremonese Master Violinmakers used the Catenary to dictate the shape of their arch as well. Makes wonder if the Violin has Islamic origins.

at 13:12 it is not Sheikh Lotfolah Mosque. It is Shah (King) Mosque also known as Imam Mosque.

Perfect example of this lateral forces transfer is an egg. There is this tradition in Poland (not sure about other countries), when on Easter we 'fight' with eggs. And you always choose the pointy bit to fight, it is much stronger. Might be that is is stronger also thanks to shell thickness, but I'm not sure about that. Regardless, pointiness surely helps.

Well Aryabhata gave the world the digit "0" (zero) a Hindu astronomer and wasn't invented by some arab mathematician
@thatsocialintrovert65103 ай бұрын
was looking for such comment... thanks :) but the one who invented was Brahmagupta.. but then Aryabhata was the one who used it in decimals and gave it an usage.
