Bengali cuisine is the only traditionally developed multi-course in the entire culinary scene of India and Indian history which is similar to the service á la russe style of French cuisine. In other words, the food is served in courses rather than being served all at once. Kolkata's own fusion Indian-Chinese food (First ever in India), Fish dish, Mutton dish which is Lamb or Goat meat and sweets from Bengal are the Best in India. 5. Cricket as well as Soccer aka Football is very popular in Bengal. The Eden Gardens is an iconic cricket ground in Kolkata, India. The "International Mother Language day" is based on the Bengali language. Bengali is the only language in the world to be also known for its language movements and people sacrificing their life for their mother language (Bengali Language Movement). Bengali language is a member of the Indo-Aryan group and branch of the Indo-European language So basically, it is a distant relative of German, French, Spanish, Russian, etc. Bengali is spoken by more than 210 million people as a first or second language. It is usually ranked about seventh in the world in terms of number of people who speak it as a first language. It is also the second most spoken language in India. Bengali literature, with its millennium old history and folk heritage, has extensively developed since the Bengali renaissance and is one of the most prominent and diverse literary traditions in Asia as well as in whole world. Both the national anthems of Bangladesh (Amar Sonar Bangla) and India (Jana Gana Mana) were composed in Bengali and written by India's first Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore obviously a Bengali. 7. I am from Bengal (yes this is a very Important fact as well lmao) Jai Hind Jai Bangla

Why can't we Indians just be proud of speaking an INDIAN language instead of suffixing it with Indo-aryan or Indo-European languages???? When will we shed our inferior complex and slave mentality???? I wish we Indians can be confident people and be proud of our unique and diverse Indian heritage. But, unfortunately we are always looking for approval from or association with heirs of invaders and colonial masters of our past to measure our worth. What a shame!!!!

It is the partition of Bengal/India and not of bangladesh. Entire Bengal (West+East) would be called by different names like Bangla , Bangla Desh , Bongo ,etc. back then but bangladesh as a country was not there. It would good to call it East Bengal instead of Bangladesh as far as the fact of partition and migration is concerned. People who had to leave East Bengal were Indians and not bangladeshis . Calling East Bengal as bangladesh would mean something else. We , as Bengalis of India , should be very cautious about using certain terms .

Fun fact, before the British colonization, the Bengal regions (mostly comprised of Bangladesh and West Bengal) accounted for almost 30% the entire South Asia's GDP, and almost 8%-10% of the entire global GDP. Its sad that people all over the world now associates Bangladesh and West Bengal with poverty, slums, and cyclones. Hopefully, someday in the future, the Bengals will reach back to being one on the most respected, and wealthiest regions of the entire world again. PS, I'm from Bangladesh, and I'm proud to be one.

Finally, something about Bengal... There's a LOT more about Bengal, Bengali Legacy & Calcutta/Kolkata, not just art, culture, literature, food, sweets, or musicians with some of the greatest Global-level geniuses in each category, Bengal was also where the development/advancement of modern India began with the first and longest brdges, the first metro, the 2 largest railway stations etc. etc. & Bengal still hosts the most liberal (least heed for religious-based classification or casteism) people of India, including the greatest freedom fighter of all time anywhere in the world - Subhash Chandra Bose, who should have been the rightful father/uncle/whatever of the nation... I only wish the CPI rule didn't demolish growth for 35 years & the rest of India weren't so hateful or jealous of Bengal & most importantly I wish we didn't go through partition and still had a bigger BENGAL than just West Bengal.

BENGAL'S History is incomplete without GAUDADHIPATI SHASHANKA. Also there are some misinformations provided in the original video which should be rectified ,like- 1.Bengal was not divided into two kingdoms, rather it had several Kingdoms like-Suhma (Rarh) , Anga , Pundra (Barendra) , Vanga , Samatata . 2. Raja Ganesh was pressurized by the Sufi "saint" to convert his son . Later he reconverted his son back to Hinduism by performing THE GOLDEN COW RITUAL . This incident of pressurizing the Hindu king to convert his son explains the true nature of the so called Sufi "Saints" who are otherwise revered much even by the Hindus. 3.The Senas came from Karnataka as believed but they didn't suddenly got to ascend the throne. They were already settled in Bengal for few generations as the Samantas/Mahasamantas under the Pala rulers of Bengal. Facts- 1.Bengal is one of the most populous state of India not because of high birth rate but because of migration during and after the partition. Partition of India is the partition of Bengal and Punjab. 2.Random fact-RAJTARANGINI-the history of KASHMIR written by KALHAN mentions few people from GAUDA (a kingdom in West Bengal) visited KASHMIR in disguise of students to take revenge from the King of Kashmir as he killed the king of GAUDA treacherously and they ransacked KASHMIR even after knowing they would be killed ultimately. Even though Kalhan was a Kashmiri , he praised the valour and morals of people of GAUDA highly.

King or Nabab Shirajud Dawla was defeated not by the british but For the Betryal of his own Uncle Mirjafore who came in greed of the british Traders..But..Those who betrayed Nabab Shirajud dawla...Did not die peacefully.. I would recommend you to react on the Mirjafor and Nawab Shirajud dawla to know the reason how british took over Bengal....If Nawab would have won, british would not have been able to Rule the country for 200+ years...😑

0:01 not hello, it is নমষ্কার (namoshkar) pretty same! Sadly, if you use Google translate to translate "Hi" to Bengali it always says "Hallo" but it is actually "Namoshkar"
