Corrections - That's a map of modern Thailand, not Cambodia 8:04. - The Mayan Pre-Classic period can be dated all the way back to 2,000 BC or 4,000 years ago. There are also other older civilizations in the Americas like the Olmecs... Civilization in the Americas are quite old.

From the juvenile mistakes of identifying Thailand as Cambodia, marking out Greece as the origin of Christianity and leaving out Mongolia as an Eastern Civilization, to the less than expert use of modern boundaries to represent what the kingdoms and empires were back then, and finally to this ridiculously long introduction to an even more ridiculous 40+ episodes on Eastern Civilization, this series already has a lot of problems.

I'm on the look out for such videos! Let me know if you find any. Smarthistory's articles about the kingdoms of the ancient Korean peninsula are written by folks at the National Museum of Korea and I noted a difference in the way some of the artworks are discussed (compared to the standard arguments in textbooks of the west). I think art history is getting better, but we have to work hard to dig ourselves out of eurocentric/colonial mindset that was standard when the discipline was developing.

@@franciscoflamenco but where does it say part one? I came here because I genuinely thought it is already about the history, because the title says it's about the foundations of eastern civilization. @@Wondrium seriously, add into the title that it's a series. Or at least write it at the beginning of the information box, so that people can easily see it. It's misleading for any person who does not know from the beginning that this is a series. (For next time, maybe say in the vide 'This is the first video of a series, and here we will talk about...'. That's way better to understand for people who don't know your channel and are just interested in history...)

9,000 years ago Krishna preached the Sanatan religion to the Yadav tribe of Gujarat, centering around the first and by far the oldest monotheistic god Vishnu: Who is the cause of the evolution of the world and who is the conjoined essence and object of meditative wisdom and active virtue (karma)- Vishnu Purana, translated by H.H.Wilson. London 1840. Long after Krishna, the whole of humanity embraced, voluntarily, the Buddhist mindset of non-violence, human rights, rule of law, liberty and freedom, kindness etc., called Bodhisattva, that created the modern civilization.

@@badmashdogesh3939WTF are you on about?😂 Buddha gained enlightenment in bodhgaya in bihar. He lived majority of his life in magadh. He was only born in lumbini of kosala, which is now in mordern nepal. Buddhism is through and through indian and ofcourse your nepal too is through and through Indian. If you deny such an obvious fact you're just disrespecting your own ancestors.

@@history1982 Well, i am an Indian but its a fact that Nepal was never a part of Indian kingdom. He was born in nepal from nepalese parents and hence Buddha is only partially indian. If one was born in india but lived his whole life in america that does not make him American unless he has american blood or he being born there. Budha came from nepal but Ind like u love to take credit of everything.

South East Asian history predates the story presented here. It is evident that this video is based on 3rd degree sources rather than actual accounts of the people there. Sorry to say, but the indigenous SE Asians are melanesian people. Negritos, Alifuru, Papuas and Orang Asli. First Nations SE Asian. They have lived there for over 50.000 years and have had huge empires and civilizations predating the end of the ice age! Before the continent was flooded. There are plenty of written and archeological sources for this. It seems like this video, as entertaining as it is, is flawed in its attempt to fit a specific narrative/agenda. Greets from the Spice Islands.

I really praise your course but I aline with 130 billion people are offended with the map you have shown in the presentation. It literally feels the soul without head. I request you to correct it. The reason being here we are talking about ancient time where the newly formed country even didn't existed. China and India been so close culturally. Yet it would be great if we discuss the facts with the sights of true information which mean undivied India. No offence.
