We must never forget that it is through our actions, words, and thoughts that we have a choice.

Sometimes we need tough love and a reminder we have opportunity everywhere. With that said… What do you mean? Your kids can stay where they live. There are remote jobs. I had to retool and retrain from my original career. Why can’t your kids do the same? Online Trade Schools are everywhere. Do you not have high speed internet? If not, why not? Also don’t forget that nothing on this planet lasts forever and that includes coal jobs and many other jobs from our past. Are we still crying about the whaling industry? No. Besides coal power does not output enough electricity. We are building newer and safer nuclear plants that will meet demand quicker and just so happen to be better for the environment. Adapt or be left behind.

All of these comments make it sound so easy to leave the area with a high paying job. I thank the coal industry for keeping our power bill cheap, and it's vital importance to the nation. Oh sure you'll whine about the dirty part, but you'll ignore the clean coal technology that is out there in place. I'm a proud coal miner, and the fact that you will say go get a remote job is easier said then done. You can never replace the coal industry jobs with simple dreams.

Your grandkids will need to move and get a job in a better industry. Or you will have to do something to attract other industries. Solar? Wind? Either way it will be better than to keep mining / burning coal.
