actually Eliza had 8 kids. The reason people alwayd get confuse is because 2 were named Philip. Eliza was pregnant when her son philip got shot and killed so when the baby was born she named him Philip in memory of her eldest son.
@heartless52376 жыл бұрын
Rest in peace Phillip. I know how he died. The video doesn't tell all the details tho. What I've heard was: Phillip told his dad (alexander Hamilton ) that he was gonna be in a duel. so then Alexander told Phillip that when they count to ten, raise your gun up to the sky to show that you are a man of honor and grace and idk what else. but Phillip listened to his FATHER and died 😢 AND HE WAS NINETEEN WHAT THE HECK!? also, Phillip was a poet. I love poems and poets 😭 Again, Rest. In. Peace. Phillip. Hamilton. Or. Schuyler. Or. Whatever. 😢

I'm pretty sure in One Last Time, Washington's speech is his action declaration that he and Hamilton wrote, and in a deleted song I think it was an extension of Best of Wives and Best of Women, Eliza read the letter Alex wrote and it was the actual letter he wrote her before he went and dueled

Literally Eliza is my role model. She put up with so much shit and had to watch everyone she loved and cate about die. She had her husband cheat on her and publicly expose the affair, completely ruining their family, but still forgave him and continued living a relatively okay life with him until he basically sent their son to his death, and had to suffer that grief, and through all the crap, still stayed with alexander even when he died. Elizabeth Schuyler-Hamilton was a saint, and anyone who thinks otherwise can come find me and I'll prove it.

@blueflare38485 жыл бұрын
leila middleton I wouldn't say Hamilton sent his son to his death. The advice he gave Philip was probably the best thing he could have done in that situation. If Philip had requested to duel and then backed out he most likely would have been labeled a coward (it might not seem like a big deal but back then stuff like that mattered a lot). His reputation would have suffered. However, shooting and killing your opponent would do just about the same thing. That's why Hamilton told Philip to reserve his fire. And saying that Hamilton got his son killed makes it sound like he didn't care. Philip's death just about destroyed him. Just compare Ezra Ames portrait of Hamilton (painted in 1802) to other portraits of him. He looks much more somber and dejected in the one by Ezra Ames. Not only that, but it took Hamilton months until he was composed enough to respond to sympathy letters. One in particular was written on November 26th, 1801 and Hamilton didn't reply until March of 1802. It took him awhile before he could acknowledge it, reasonably so.
@elizabethschuylerhamilton46925 жыл бұрын
leila middleton Eliza also suffered a miscarriage while struggling to seek for a cure for her son, John Church Hamilton, when he was deathly ill and Hamilton was out of town. She outlived many of her children, her parents, sisters and her husband, meaning she witnessed many deaths. She struggled to find proper assistance for her daughter, Angelica Hamilton who suffered from mental health issues after her brother’s and father’s deaths, but did not rest until she was placed in good hands. She and the children were extremely humiliated and became a laughing stock when Hamilton released the pamphlet, but she nevertheless forgave him and never allowed all these hardships to stop her from doing everything she could to tell his story and preserve his legacy. Not only his, but others’ as well.

Hamilton-Reynolds affair started in 1791 and ended in 1792. The pamphlet was published in 1797 when they had 6 children: • Philip Hamilton, who was 15 • Angelica Hamilton, who was around 13 • Alexander Hamilton Jr, who was like 11 • James Alexander Hamilton, around 9 • John Church Hamilton, about 5 • William Stephen Hamilton, who was just few months old. (They later had Eliza Hamilton in 1799 and Philip Hamilton II in 1802)

Love this! Thanks for sharing! :) Oh, and Eliza's oldest son was also buried in or near Trinity Church graveyard. The grave was left unmarked, which means that the exact location has been lost. Supposedly there was some hesitation about Phillip being buried there because he was killed in a duel, something the church viewed as immoral. They think Alexander may have pushed a little to get him either buried within the graveyard, or just off of it but very close by.

@blueflare38485 жыл бұрын
Hanahaki art That's not necessarily true. No one knows who shot first. It's possible that Burr shot Hamilton first which caused Hamilton to accidentally fire. Apparently Hamilton didn't even remember firing and warned them to be careful with his pistol since he thought it was still loaded. This further supports that he fired on accident, assuming the information is correct.
