To attempt such a vast topic and present it with simplicity and lucidity requires gumption, tenacity and creativity. I always found history of English literature to be very intricate and never ending topic because it contained diverse multitudes or subsets of topics. The overwhelming content of textbooks and reference books of literature made this topic even more tedious. When copious amounts of information is available, it is very important to organize topics simply so that listeners can comprehend the fundamental characteristics that constitute each age and understand the writers who adorn the various ages of literature.
