And the proofs are there that Barca were definitely suppressed because of Catalonian heritage. And you looking for facts in a dictatorship is a bit funny, where facts can be easily moulded as per dictator's will. Talking about 11-1 match. What more proof do u want man. Do u expect Barca players to come out and publically say that they were threatened??? Just think about what would happen to them and their families afterwards I respect Real Madrid becuase they still are successful after the dictatorship ended. But that doesn't mean that they were not once a symbol used and were heavily favoured by the dictator.

Franco used Real's image to establish superiority over Catalonia and that too to Real's detriment I'll agree on that but he only rode on Real's success not the other way round. He didn't even like football. Everything else is speculation and I'll let you be the judge. And funnily enough Franco(or the army more accurately) did have his own team "Atlético Aviación" nowadays know as Atlético de Madrid funded by military funds. Real never had any such favours. But you never hear that being talked about.

Nope, the UCL final was scheduled on 26/05/1999 and by that time only UTD had won their league and FA cup. Bayern had only won their league and the DFB pokal final was scheduled on 12/06/1999 which they eventually lost to Werder Bremen..!!
