Hey dude. Nice video on Gears of War. Your rundown of the titles and how they came about is well done and has a pleasant pace to it. It was fun to see all the old Xbox 360 games I have put thousands of hours into (mostly Gears and Gears 3). Just a few minor things/corrections for a future video on a similar topic: - Tim Sweeney rebranded to Epic MegaGames, before later rebranding to just the current Epic Games. Very minor detail. - The Epic Games engines are called Unreal Engine #. So Unreal Engine 3, Unreal Engine 4, not Unreal 4 Engine. Other than that, very solid job my man. Good God Gears 1 looks ancient. I got so used to the beautiful remaster. By the way Gears 2 and 3 should get one too. These games are still so good. Judgement lost so much of the series charm. Gears 4 brings some of it back. Hopefully Gears 5 can emulate the original trilogy's charm.

@@spartanq7781 all my friends bought the remaster they did a really good job with it and it sold for 40 and sold a few mil Microsoft cares more about game pass considering they give the games they produce away for free with a game pass subscription so their is no reason to pay for them at full price when you can pay 120$ a year to play it along with 100s of other games they have on it. I can even play all the games on my PC aswell for the most part.

For clarification about gears 5 MP, the system in arcade is an arcade only thing. Every other mode is going to remain classic to how it's been, spawning with a gnasher, lancer, snub, and a smoke or flashbang.

Playing the original Gears of War 1 was indeed memorable. I remember getting an xbox party chat going and one of my 7 friends would host the match and we'd all join in before matchmaking was the norm. We'd randomize the teams and duke it out against each other. It was the best experience.. friends vs friends. Gears of War 1 Ultimate Edition is also amazing. I'd say it's sits at the top of the best video game remakes including Resident Evil 2 remake. I loved the other games too, but I think Gears 4 was the worst. SP was great, but the MP was so inconsistent. Gears 5 beta was pretty good.. hoping they've kept the shotgun intact as it reminded me of Gears 1 and 3 combined.

God... I’m so old. I remember going shopping at Best Buy after getting a bunch of Christmas money, seeing Gears 2 on the shelf and remembering how great people thought Gears 1 was. So I said “what the heck” and bought it. I ended up loving the series. That was 11 years ago... I’m 23 now. In a way, I’m kinda glad Gears of War 2 was my first Gears game though. That was a hell of a story. It’s a shame that we just can’t go back to the glory days of so many incredibly Xbox 360 titles.

I play the whole series all the time lol i haven't beat any of them yet cuz i always change games and then go back and restart I've done this at least 3 times with each game. But i am trying to beat each one now one at a time. Wish me luck! These games are just soo fun. They keep me entertained and my mind just gets lost in the stories. I can forget my real life problems for a bit and these games do that the best for me. Great video!

Battlefront 2 removed micro transactions that affect gameplay a year ago. You can only buy character skins with real money now. The progression system was entirely reworked. Sorry, as a person who regularly plays the game I figured I’d say something lol

i personally like the first gears of war the most. it has the darkest tone even some horror elements it was more about survival... the follow up games had way to much explosion and action moments for my taste it was less tactical and a more action focused which dosen't mean thats bad but not necessarily what i was looking for. never the less all the games are really well done and a lot of fun.

just started playing the 1st Gears, and the atmosphere is pretty intense. the only minor complaint i have about this great game is sometimes when i want to take cover, i do a leap n' roll instead, or end up taking cover perpendicular to the direction i had in mind. but i'm learning and getting better as the game goes on. oh yeah, and sometimes a squad mate will get stuck by a movable object, typically a car, but fortunately you can go back to where they are and push them clear. pretty sure it's gonna take a bumbler like me a while to get through, but each new checkpoint i reach puts a smile on my face :-)

i remember i played the original gears so much i wore out the inside ring of the disc and had to get my disc cleaned at gamecrazy like 3 times lol until i had to buy a new copy. i loved gears 2 and 3 but didnt play it as much as the original. judgement i didnt like and 4 i just never beat, but im looking to get back into the series with gears 5!

Gears was one of the first to show unreal engine 3 and WOW the game looked incredible at the time. The engine blew everything except crysis out of the water. It might have set a trend of muddy colors and hazy bloom but it also did horde mode before cod zombies existed Gears 2 will always be my favorite. The campaign was incredible. Fun to play with a buddy. Network issues aside, multiplayer was a blast and the competitive scene was great. Horde mode was excellent. Gears 3 was good but it just didn’t change enough.

I think it was pretty obvious that the zombie mode in WaW was an afterthought and that they were inspired by Gears 2 horde mode. WaW's zombie mode was 1 very small map and 1 enemy type, while in Gears 2 you could play horde on every MP map, lots of enemy types, modifiers etc.

It absolutely was not an afterthought "It was one of the pet projects of one of the designers," he said. "The seed of the idea came out of casual [tower] defense games online. It was something that they [developer Treyarch] had been working on for a while and went back to when they had time."

@@Nick930 Horde mode was showcased pretty long before the game came out IIRC. Even if that was true it does sound like something they didn't put much thought in to. More importantly, Gears 2's horde mode was definitely the trendsetter when it comes to horde modes.

Are you a new player to the franchise, if yes then I’d say that the multiplayer can have huge skill curve especially in competitive game modes , so go to the social matchmaking instead also you’d really require some tips so do check some tutorials to learn concepts never taught by the game itself

Hands down GoW 2 was the best in the series. Part 1 was a game changer correct but after part two and some dramatic scenes in Part 3 the story took a dip. What should of happen they should of made how the Pendulum wars began. How Marcus and Dom met or at least what the heck happen on Emergence day at least. What led Marcus to disobeying orders that led to him being locked up. Dom’s family, Cole’s thrashball career and why he enlisted. If they re-gathered the same development team and Cliff Bleszinski and told those stories I would buy whatever platform it would appear on.
