1985 was the best year in the entire franchise. in my personal opinion. so many iconic figures were released.

Sounds about right. We got the Flagg, and no Serpentor yet (thankfully imo).

Thanks so much for going through the characters and figures. Some of these playsets I had no idea existed, such as the checkpoint and the Cobra firing range. When I was a little kid, my dad made sure each one of us in the family had a G.I.JOE that looked like us. :) My dad was Shipwreck, my sister was Lady Jay, I was Lt. Falcon, and my mom even had one, she was the Baroness. :) I never had very many G.I.JOEs, but I always had great memories with those figures. I'm still in awe of that vast line. Thanks for the video

I've been saving this for a day where I could kick back and enjoy. This is the year I actually started buying Joes to be Joes rather than to fill in for Star Wars or Super Powers -- Lady Jaye got me to the toy aisle and it was odd to me she looked different from the cartoon but her accessories (that film camera especially) more than made up for that. It wasn't until 86 when Zarana hit that I really dug down,
@ToyKennections Жыл бұрын
I felt the same about Lady Jaye, though the javelin is such a great accessory. If you get a chance, watch the '86 video too afterwards ;)

In 1985, I was more Cobra focused far as the toy line. I would save up my extra lunch money to pick up a comic or two. I did not pay attention to the family ties for the characters due to having my own head cannon. Thanks for another great video. Yo Joe!

In the comics not every Crimson guardsmen was a fred, some had their indivisual names remaining. However in more recent issues of the comics it's been established that the Crimson Guards even have other series of people aside from the Fred series, like the Laura series, the Tyler series, the Amy series, and the Luis series. With this information in mind, it's possible that crimson guardmen like Professor Apple might have had a series of copies of him as well.
@ToyKennections Жыл бұрын
Yup. The Fred series is the most well known, though.

I'm inclined to believe the Starduster toy was released in 1987 because, you see, from 1982 to 1985 the file cards were in a peach color, zero exceptions, however starting in 1986 the file cards became grey, so if Star duster was released in 1985 there should be peach colored file card of him right? Well, every example of Stardusters filecard I've found is in a grey color scheme, I have seen no peach colored Starduster filecards. Now if a picture of a peach colored Starduster filecard pops up online, I will be believe it was released in 85, but until then I'm gonna go with 1987 as the release I believe.

Version A was available as a mailaway offer in late 1985, and either shipped by end of '85 or in early '86 (which is why both 3djoes and YoJoe put him in the '85 section). I would think 1987 makes sense for the version C of him, as it uses some parts off of Iceberg from the previous year.

I've always preferred the more sci-fi-looking figures, so I loved 85 with Barbecue, the Eels, Crimson Guard, Snake Eyes to an extent, and especially my favorite GI Joe figure ever, Airtight.
@roosternm6830Ай бұрын
Me and my younger brothers collected GiJoe figures and vehicles from 82 to 90. We vlew them up, shot them with pellet guns and even taped a couple bottle rockets to a figure and made him fly. He had a parachute and we rigged it up an he flew up pretty far and then started falling and last minuye the paracute deployed and down he came. Right into a tall tree.

I remember that two-part episode "The Traitor". That was a good episode. Dusty played the triple agent probably better than anyone before him. I wouldn't mind seeing that episode again.

Awesome content ... question I came across a sealed ARAH Snake eyes with timber not sure if it's 84 85 version is called cobra invaser ????? 😅
@ToyKennections8 ай бұрын
Prolly 85. But if it's the foreign Invasor with South American packaging, it's from a bit later in the 80s, but I don't think that one came with Timber and the mold would match the 82 Snake Eyes.

@@ToyKennections o I see it's an action swivel arm figure card says cobra enemy and the figure all in commando with a silver cobra symbol looks to me to be a snake eyes cobra imposter weird......
