Fun fact: the image used at 3:33, as representation of the Icelandic nobility is actually "Polish magnates 1576-1586", one of illustrations from album "Dress in Poland 1200-1795" by Jan Matejko. At least the period is approximately right. ;) Overall great video!

Dang! You did a history of Iceland video, too! I released a Iceland video last month, too. Great job with this one.

This channel is amazing! One of the few channels in KZbin with the least amount of oddly cartoon characters in the videos, with the fewest amount of puns and jokes (in the videos) and serious!

8:15 weird how you show the modern greek flag instead of the one they had at the time, the one they said the purposed Icelandic flag was too similar too.

Technically there was one person who died during the Cod wars..........But it was an unrelated accident so does not really count ;)
@Torsteinsson9 ай бұрын
Not exactly an unrelated accident… He was killed while the British where ramming the boat he was on. Poor guys death apperantly doesnt count? Every death in a war isnt by a gun u know

Really good! How about a follow up history of Iceland that incorporates the financial crisis and subsequent tourist boom?

What would have been cool to know more is when the Ottoman Empire raided Iceland and took slaves.
