बहुत बडी खामी रह गई. 1976 - 1977 की ईमर्जंसी. ईंदिराजी डिक्टेटर बन गई. फिर उन्होनेही 1977 मे इलेक्शन करवाये- जैसा कभी कही होता नही - और हार भी गइ. उनके बाद आई सरकार 3 साल मे ही गिर गई और 1980 मे फिर ईंदिराजी बहुमत से वापस आइ इस स्लोगन पर की " give me a government that works". ऐसा कही कभी हुआ नही है .
