Those were the days of Aloha! Everybody loved each other. You knew everybody and they knew you. Island love.

Thank you for your response. Sadly, Uncle Billy passed away in Feb 2016. He was 93 years old.

As you probably may agree, Uncle Billy was one of the better things about the Kona coast I heard. My wife was a Colombian woman but looked liked like a beautiful Polynesian girl. She said she ran into Uncle Billy once in KK when he was in a wheel at the Kona Inn. They had a lovely chat together I believe she said and he could not believe she was not a local girl. Sadly she too passed away (cancer in 2o16) but at exactly half the age as Uncle Billy. I am glad they both got to meet since it seems they both enjoyed meeting each other (I have never meet him). We were married in St Peters on Alii drive. If you care to, pop over to www.3cats.com/wedding.htm to see my Polynesian Princess from Colombia. I was born n raised on Oahu and always thought to my self that if I ever get merried I hoped to do in St Peters on Alii Drive from the first second I first drove by the church sometime in the mid 1970s. My wife truly Loved KK n the BI. Actually today is exactly 16 months since her passing, guess I am still ahveing a difficult time with my life with out her. Here is a uTube vid of one of her favorite days on the BI when she was in remission a few winters ago. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIvWhnimbtV2r9U. Sorry I got so carried away with my comment here...............

Mahalo,Uncle Billy. We like this old town, whatever it should be called. We are interested that it isn't really Kainaliu. When we are on Kona Side we usually stay in Captain Cook, but about 2/3rds of my wardrobe comes from Blue Ginger. Nice little theatre group there and a lovely place that isn't a Bad Ass or the like to get a quiet cup of coffee. 2020 Oakland CA
