Ah howden house. We used to hang about the rose garden at the back of the house when we were young. I grew up in howden.

I love that painted mural of Craigshill and the depiction of that old iconic photo of the guy walking down past the Tower underneath the chippy at the Mall. Where is it please?

It's painted on the school or wellbeing centre near the tower if I remember rightly

Howden House I remember in the 70s was a war games convention type thing, back then it was not painted, just plain sandstone... Skatepark, I remember that being built...Just up from there was that metal monstrosity that I remember my dad saying at the time "50 f^^&n Grand for that?" NO ONE knew what it was meant to be ...lol Aww gawd, I shut off at "the dreaded covid.."

Great bit if history about livi. Just to clear up one part of the history it wasn't people of Livingston that was it to be a city it was West Lothian Council. Not everyone who lives here wanted it to be a city some of us are happy it a town.

Thank god Livingston didn't get city status, our council tax would have shot up. I lived in Livingston when I was a kid until I was 18 soon after joining the army. Returning after 38 years I'm shocked how bad the areas have become with lack of repair. I will not mention the state of the roads neither.

Was asked today what use to be where Riverside vets is now. Can you tell me. We arrived in Livingston 1969 and it wasn't a vets then.

The building that became the vets is on maps from the 1600's, called the horvden, and was a hunting lodge for royalty

A hope west lothian college never becomes a uni, most unorganised staff and their systems are shockin. SQA should shut it down if they had any sense aboot them.
