Note, literally he isn't talking about Lagos lagoon and sea. Such tale was told by our ancestors just to established and laid claim and ownership to our various space as Yoruba people. Every native nation of the world usually create tale just to lay claim to ownership of land and sometimes true stories were imbedded and narrated as tale so as to avoid some crucial confrontations by the owner of the actual events. Tale Is Good For Us As People.

Good history to enjoy. But it’s time to transform, clean up the environment and bring modern hygiene to reflect our era. Yes to culture and tradition but we should not be-a slave forever . We must emancipate and use our traditional experiences in moving our civilisation forward scientifically

Islamu ofo ti tun de o. You have you own creation story, this is our own. It is in Ifa, there nothing you can do about it.
@MikhailAwolowo-zm7fr2 ай бұрын
@james_smith9 That's the problem with most of you. You're not intelligent at all. Because of my muslim name, you've run to a wrong conclusion that I just deliberately out of mischief going against the wrong historical narrative of that man. Just as anybody can wrongly believe that because of your christian name that you're a pastor. Oduduwa was born in Ile-ife. He didn't come from makkah as it was wrongly presented by some ignorant historians. I have very sound education on Yoruba historical background to know that the man you're listening to is not well grounded. The fact that someone is an Alawo or babalawo or olorisa does not qualify him as an authority on Yoruba history and creation. Try to be wise by doing a very deep historical research.

I wonder if you will be able to come with a superior narrative. Otherwise, this assertion has to be sustained for now. What this elderly man engaged in is what we call oral history. Written history surfaced just a few centuries ago. Even if you come with your own version, would we be able to validate it? Distortion is inherent in every type of history. However, we should not totally dismiss the narrative because of some inaccuracies! Falsification will continue to take place when new fact or reason emerges.
