Great of you for making this video. Suriname is still not well known in the world. The landcard that you used is not correct though. Surinamees men did fight during World war 1. They were ordered to support the Netherlands. Bouterse is prosecuted, but not arrested yet.

@@StateofNations yes the Netherlands were afraid of losing their colonies during the war and especially losing the precious goods the colonies produced. It's horrible that the children in the Netherlands don't get to learn the whole ugly history the Netherlands created in the colonies, especially in Suriname. The children in Suriname learn the whole history.

@@brucekarto4305 From what i understood, but don't pin me down on it, he is immune to persecution whilst president, and is about the lose the office (litteraly problems around election right now). Once he's out of office he could go to jail, he has been convicted in the meanwhile (whilst immune because of office). I'm no expert, but have some Surinamese people I know, this is based on their perspective. Because of his illegal stuff (internationally also convincted for drugs-related business) he is 'wanted' outside of Suriname, and about to go in jail in Suriname once out of office.
