if course they'ld have issues with TSR, it was the age of a certain Ms. Williams.

That's interresting to see how two completely different settings ended up becoming one.

That’s cool. I didn’t know Record of Lodoss War happens in the same setting. I knew it was played in basic D&D tho lol.

I knew Lodoss was part of Forcelia, but I wasn't aware that Lodoss had it's own separate RPG in the early days.

Note: There is also a 30th year anniversary 2019th version of this Lodoss RPG. Updated with better lore and revised rules.

Thank you for making this. Always wanted to know a bit more about _Sword World,_ but almost everything is in Japanese.

Is it possible to still get the 1st edition of this book? Even in pdf?
@guidedbycardia Жыл бұрын
In Japanese, you can find it on Bookwalker. We are translating 1st edition, should be out by the end of the year

That's very exciting to hear! I'm way more interested in reading that original edition. I also strongly prefer the aesthetic from that era.@@guidedbycardia

I was interested in this series of history videos, but the AI voice immediately soured my mood in it. Is it THAT hard to get someone to narrate your script?
@guidedbycardia4 ай бұрын
That will sound better, yes. Luckily, for us, you are in a small minority. In the worst case, you can just read subtitles without a sound. Also, AI voices get better, so our recent videos sound better.

Now this is the fascinating stuff, its always fun to learn how a game materialized in the first place. I know Dragon Quest was the big break through for the fantasy genre in Japan as far as video games goes, but everything I've seen points to Sword World having just as much significance in the genre gaining its foothold.
