i loved the red rattlers, they had a smell and character like no other suburban train not keen on the idea of driverless trains
@brettonwoods98568 жыл бұрын
+tobagotb10 They also had really noisy cooling fans; or am I confusing them with something else?

Same here, driverless trains are more dangerous like not stopping if there's something on the line.

Those lazy afternoons traveling at sunset going home on a red rattler looking out the windows at the twinkle of house lights as the sound of the clunk a clunk coming from those metal wheels along with that unforgettable squealing brake noise they use to make. It was so long ago at a time so different .

3:06- Is that one of nadnerbster r's timelapse videos? The music I heard sounds familiar and that section, too. How did Channel 7 get that part of the video on news?

So basically the Sydney network trains are designed a little something like this: D sets are based off the B sets which are based off of the A sets which are based off of the H sets which are based off of the T sets which are based off of the V sets which are based off of the S sets which are based off of the K sets which are based off of the C sets which are based off of the U sets which are based off of the F sets.

Actually, the D, B, A, H & J Sets were based off M Sets, M Sets were (probably) based off of T Sets and the Tangara was a COMPLETELY NEW design, C Sets were based off K Sets, being fitted with selected modifications, K Sets were based off of S Sets and The Mk 1 Comeng cars were loosely based off of the V Sets

Even with the old red rattlers, with open doors, never heard of graffiti on them, or anyone falling out, and I stood many a time right at the open door as they flew along. No problems, safer than today, because it's not the trains that get you hurt today, it's the odd idiot that rides them.
