I lived in Milwaukee damn near my whole life & I am moving at the end of this year. I can say that this city is too segregated for black men to integrate into the rest of Wisconsin. Go to college & get a job here is not much for a black man unless you have connects. Wisconsin has the highest incarceration for black men out of every state in America , so if you're a black man you are better with another state because this state will segregate you. Since Chicago is a hour away from us, one reason it is getting worst because Chicago citizens are migrating to Milwaukee with their bullshit. I am moving at the end of this year because I cant stand Wisconsin anymore. If you are a African American male, only stay here temporarily because it is too much bullshit to set you up here. lbvs.

On an emergency visit to an inner city hospital we were put in an open area, with beds separated only by a thin curtain. Next to us they put a Black shooting victim. A detective came to his bed side to question him. OF course, the guy was only 3 or 4 feet away...so we could hear everything. This is how it went: "Who shot you?"....."Don't know man"....."You mean someone just came up from nowhere and put a bullet in you?"........"Yah". "Where were you when it happened"......."I was sittin on a street curb"....."Who was with you"....."My two girl friends"....."So who was doing the shooting"...."He was in a car, man"....."He shot you from a car?"....."No, man, He drove by us and stopped...got out of the car and shot me"......."Did you know the guy?"...."No man"......"You mean a complete strange just got out of his car and shot you?"....."Well... I knew who the guy was"...."Well then if you knew who the guy was, what was his name"....."I don't know man"......And that's how the conversation went on for minutes after. Obviously the shooting victim knew more than what he was willing to tell the cop.

For every one of you who ever thought, go back to school, get a job, etc. And thought of it like an insult. It only shows more how little you will ever understand about the way of life here. I guess for me, I hold a burden of being the only white person I have met to live in the struggles these African Americans face in this city. I grew up with these children when they were in school, with their eyes lit up and excited to learn every day. Knowing things about mathematics, reading, and sciences that those rich Waukesha children still don't know as adults. People who haven't lived in these parts of the city, don't know what it's like. Knowing that no matter how smart, how good or a student you were your whole life, that you will not go to college, you may not even finish high school. And that you will live and die, never being able to make a better life for yourself. You will make sacrifices to keep food on the table for your family, and one of those sacrifices may even be your life in those efforts. And yet the rich white wonder why I laugh when they spit on them and tell them to go to college. Because they will never know what it's like when you don't have a choice. And if you do, you must sacrifice everything.

I had lived in Milwaukee for 32 years and at one point Milwaukee was a good place to live in until 2013 and it has gotten worse since then. I live in Dyersburg Tennessee since 2015 after I lived in California for 2 years. My advice is if you can get out of Milwaukee and live somewhere else then do that because the crime in Milwaukee is pretty bad and I remember my mom and dad has me and my sister moving from place to place on the north side due to crime. I had live in good neighborhoods and bad neighborhoods so I had the best of both worlds. If it wasn’t for my brother giving me street knowledge I wouldn’t have survived in the bad neighborhoods.

I used to walk to school, by the early 70's I was on a damn bus for over 2hrs. in the 60's I could walk anywhere without any issues by the late 70's I dare not go out after dark and moved... and now I'm afraid to even drive down my old street.

Sure there are some crap neighborhoods in Milwaukee, but these are just some thugs trying to act hard. The majority of folks in Milwaukee are family-oriented and work hard for a living. He probably just interviewed the first couple of punks he could find and ran out of there as fast as he could. Now, don't get me wrong, because these are the kind of statements he was trying to find. He interviewed the right people and got the responses he wanted. Good job! I'm just saying that there are much better places and people in Milwaukee. MUCH BETTER!

Nothing but lazy parenting and I feel bad for people like this. I live in Milwaukee, born and raised, I have seen this way to often. Unfortunately Milwaukee is one of the most segregated cities around but it breaks down by lack of drive and work ethic. People who work hard and keep grinding they migrate to areas of the city that have people that do the same thing. Has nothing to do with race. The city doesn't prevent anyone from living anywhere they want, they have to work for it to get there. The people that don't work legitimate jobs, tend to stick together and migrate in the same area thus higher crime rates and less businesses that want to participate in such areas meaning less jobs. People rather do wrong for a quick buck rather than be legit and earning it the right way. Sucks Milwaukee has this image, a lot of areas are up and coming and turning out great. Makes me happy to be apart of that community

God bless Milwaukee🙏 I grew up in Chicago Milwaukee is still a better place and even when I go back home to Chicago Humboldt Park area or Logan Square or even Downtown Chicago to just visit I always say can't wait to get back home to Miltown where it's more peaceful🙏😄🤔 Where people are neighborly, you can let kids play and be kids because of great resources and leaders taking it serious to have safe community and where a person in need can find help and get back on their feet with great jobs here on MilTown. There's no reason anyone of any race can't have a job or find some type of help here to get out of the hood or any poor state of mind when it's all over the city of Milwaukee to just get through programs offered and stay out of the streets. Read Jeremiah 29:11 you will find out how to have hope and get somewhere in Life with God's help. Jesus Christ came to seek and Save the Lost There's so many good resources and people in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I pray for this City with my church and we are going to see the Greatest Revival ever come to our Great City of Milwaukee😄👏🙏💗 Check out www.myfaithbuilders.com
