Excellent information information about this fascinating place in the French Alps. Makes it even more interesting to me because my daughter, from Australia, worked at Meribel one inter season a few years ago and really enjoyed her time there.

fab .1992 i saw dash 7 land and take off was great to see
@150daysofwinter3 жыл бұрын
Very jealous, Compared to the small planes that land now the Dash7 is in a different league. I would have loved to hear one going to full throttle for takeoff.

Very interesting, thank you for posting. I used to go to work in a Dash 7 from Aberdeen to Unst in the Shetland Isles. This wasn't a long runway either at 2099' - 640m however considerably longer than Courchevl, and there was a go round at both ends too. :-)

Seeing something as large as a dash 7 land still give me goosebumps.

Very good video. Be interested in a follow-up on options for heli transfer to 3V from GVA etc - how is luggage handled, what happens in bad weather etc etc.
@150daysofwinter8 ай бұрын
If they are travelling with loads of luggage usually a normal taxi will take it from GVA and deliver to resort.

Thanks, I have wondered about why and how the air port developed. It has to be a rush to land and take-off, especially in era of flight when passengers could see out thru the cockpit.
@150daysofwinter2 жыл бұрын
You only get one shot at taking off and landing. Only STOL planes like the Pilatus PC12 and small Piper planes.

How much is a helicopter transfer from nearest international airport.
@skiingfast13 жыл бұрын
Great Question.
@150daysofwinter3 жыл бұрын
From Courchevel to Geneva, depending on the size of helicopter costs from 2200e to 7200e
@glynmycock50353 жыл бұрын
@@150daysofwinter I understood that private helicopters were not allowed at Geneva now because of the increased fixed wing traffic.
@150daysofwinter3 жыл бұрын
Possibly. I was just reading the information off a helicopter transfer website.
