I am a security guard by trade, so knowing about when and what type of alarms and tests are going off is important in my line of work. Ever since the "War On Terrorism" started in 2001, the Department Of Homeland Security, and other state homeland security departments, have arranged for routine Emergency Alert System (EAS) tests to take place on NOAA Weather Radio, commercial radio, and television on a weekly, and statewide, on a monthly, basis. A nationwide EAS test takes place at least once per year. Most of the time, the EAS gets activated for severe storms, tornadoes, and hurricane alerts. They would be activated in the event of a nuclear attack, and is known as "All Hazards Radio". Most states have regular Tornado Sirens tests on a regular basis, and would be used as an Air Raid Siren in the event of a nuclear attack. In the State of Ohio, where I live, the Tornado Sirens are tested at Noon on Wednesdays, and twice on Saturdays, at Noon and 4:00 PM in the afternoon. If I hear a tornado siren going off at a different time than these times, I immediately turn on the radio or television to find out if a possible nuclear attack is about to take place.

If you think Americans won the space race, you probably don't know a hell of a lot about the space race. The Soviet Union was the first to do pretty much everything. First artificial satellite, first animal in space, first person (and first woman) in space, first space walk, first re-useable space station, first craft landed on the moon, first pictures from the moon, first everything. The only thing they didn't do first was land a man on the moon. (And apparently the team responsible for the tech behind the Soviet space program burst into applause when they say Apollo 11 land. Pretty cool of them.)

The Tamil Kings! I'm Tamil. So basically all Indians are generally on a spectrum of ethnic mixture between the Indo-Europeans who came later (they look like modern Iranians) and the original Indus Valley civilization people whose only remnants led to the south Indians (so the Tamil Kings). The Indo-Europeans are also called the Ancestral North Indians. The Ancestral South Indians closest current relative are the Andaman Islanders (a few black pygmy tribes) and the Australian aboriginals. This is why in the northern most region of India you're bound to find people who are very fair almost white and in the southern most region you're bound to find people with very dark skin and even curly hair who could be called black. The majority of Indians are somewhere in between on the spectrum but generally in the North you find more fairer skinned and straighter haired folk since they can be expected to have more Ancestral North Indian.

I am a security guard by trade. Ever since the events of September 11, 2001, and when the Homeland Security Department was established, some changes regarding how "nuclear attack warnings" were made. Cities and some smaller towns have tornado sirens, which can be used as "nuclear attack sirens" in an emergency. The tornado sirens (at least in the state of Ohio, where I live) have tornado siren tests on Wednesdays at Noon, and on Saturdays, at Noon and 4:00 PM. Every month, there is an Emergency Alert System (EAS) test every month, on radio, television, and NOAA Weather Radio. Occasionally, there are statewide, and even nationwide EAS tests. If a nuclear attack takes place, NOAA Weather Radio becomes "All Hazards Radio" in an emergency. If you hear a tornado siren during a time when a routine test is not taking place, tune in to your local TV, radio, or NOAA Weather Radio station for further details and updates.

If you look at the Space Race from the perspective of an actual race, it doesn't matter who led for most of the time, only who crosses the finish line first. Back when the space race was in full swing, the US set landing a man on the moon as their goal/finish line. So if you accept that as the finish line, the Soviet Union led for most of the race but America caught them, passed them, and finished first. I'm not familiar enough with the Soviet space program to know if they ever intended to go to the moon, but if they did intend to do so, then the Soviets quit mid-race and never finished. If they never intended to go to the moon, then its impossible to say who "won." Its tough to declare a winner if the racers don't agree on where the finish line is.
