Thanks for this video. There’s not much available on youtube in english on the history of this tradition. I found it interesting hearing that they see the queen of the forest as being synonymous with the virgin mary. Within Baños equador I also heard about people there praying to her in a similar way as pachamama, mother earth, asking for her to intervene to stop earthquakes and volcanos for example.

it's "corrente" (co - HEN - chi), in Brazilian portuguese, double rr is pronounced like h and final -te is pronounced like chi. It just means 'current'...
