A friend responded to the video: "Happy New Year. I find myself falling further away from many things, and many people. My little life problems becoming more of a preoccupation. It is more than that though. It is a turning away from the world. It has become too noisy; too demanding; and too inclined to be hurtful. Strong sense of just wanting to be away from the noise. When I think about it, I was more up for going out and about during COVID lockdown than I am these days. Well, sort of. COVID times seemed quieter in the world....A sort of calm before an impending storm. Like, I am still going out to work, and groceries, and family stuff, and generally carrying on. But, the sense is, I would rather be away from as much of it as I can. Another imagining. The world buckling under the weight of humanity, ‘civilization', and modernity. Not something you mention in this video, (I imagine you are trying to be careful and encouraging) but I think you are correct. The environment isn’t the problem. Humans are. Humans will ‘work out’ the problem. The solution will be noisy and hurtful, is my guess. If I am right, I can see why you didn’t want to make predictions. At Christmas at the relative's place when I mentioned my theory that all actions contain harms. My sibling responded with: “That’s bleak.” Well, I suppose that’s true. It seems I tend to think 2025 is going to bring many people to tears with all the hurts on the horizon that seem inevitable. That is, those that will still be around to cry. Perhaps loss and tears is one way to compassion, understanding, transformation, and higher comprehension. Other bleak thoughts I have had the last few years come to mind. One I have told myself before: "Through tears one can see more clearly." Another I have told myself before: “I have found that it is possible to cry and do dishes at the same time." Oddly, I also seem optimistic. It is kind of a weird set of feelings....Part of what amused me after writing my email was the detachment to the the bleakness of it. The detachment seemed to make the bleakness funny in a way. Many paths to nirvanna, even ones that tread through the bleak places. hm that brings up a favourite movie quote: “The path to nirvanna is slippery and steep. If you only travel on sunny days you will never reach your destination.” - "Heaven and Earth" directed by Oliver Stone."

Great review and lesson! It’s fascinating how these themes - whether personal or collective-connect to faith and multidimensionality. For example, in Matthew 14, when Jesus asks Peter, 'O you of little faith, why did you doubt?' it feels like a call, much like Neville Goddard teaches, to see faith not just as belief but as something alive-a dynamic blend of imagination, mind, and conviction that shapes and creates. In Christianity, I believe the real transformation happens when Love-pure, unconditional energy-takes the lead. This Love is the unattached balance of the Mind and Heart, the perfect harmony of the masculine and feminine within us. When our thoughts and actions align with that Love (Christ Consciousness), we connect to something far greater than ourselves. This alignment empowers real-world change and bridges the gap between spiritual ideas and their tangible impact. As Jesus said in John 14:12-14, 'Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these ...' Faith, then, isn’t just about what we believe but how we act when Love is in charge. As that seed of Love grows within us, so does the reach of our actions, powered by a force that transcends our limits. It’s as though we’re stepping into a larger story of creation and transformation, starting with the balance and alignment within ourselves. Thank you for introducing me to Dr. Brugh Joy’s insights. Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Glad you found it fascinating. Thank you for your teaching as well here. Beginning points. First step moves. Where to begin? This is the messaging I take from your missive today, coming all the way from S. Africa. Btw, Prosper Williams, the elder I mention at the beginning, was my first encounter with a S. African (white Africkans). I don't think he was born there but he lived there most of his life, but he travelled extensively and came into the Common Ground consciousness learning community in 1980. He was a fascinating man, an artist-painter, and a top internationally known gem-dealer. Yes, he bought precious stones from S. Africa and exported them around the world. Many times he would do his own digging of them in S. Africa. He told me stories, and he found a new mineral never discovered by "white men" (at least), and it is called Prosperite (named after him, Prosper Williams). There is an article on it: Prosperite, HCaZn 2 (AsO 4 ) 2 (OH), a new mineral from Tsumeb, South West Africa (Namibia). The Canadian Mineralogist, 17 (1) 87-92. So, he was the most important person I have met on a world scale of recognition for a new scientific discovery.

"Awakening" of course has various definitions and meanings depending on where people are coming from and the practices they follow, e.g., meditators are typically very sure of what awakening is, if not theoretically, due to their teachers/gurus and what they may have experienced. I am not talking specifically about what meditation discourses propose about awakening in their various traditions, religions, spiritualities. I think the most up to date (very inclusive) view of awakening is more generalizable under the integral model of Ken Wilber, an integral philosopher. His framing of practice for awaking has (at least) five components--on the way to "radical wholeness": (a) waking up, (b) growing up, (c) cleaning up, (d) showing up, (e) opening up. These are detailed in Wilber, K. (2024). Finding a radical wholeness: The integral path to unity, growth and delight. Shambhala.

I also mentioned "quantum leap" or could have said "quantum thinking" is the leap that will really big time change humans and our world; for a talk on that kind of transformative theory and action, go to Vandana Shiva's talk: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGXXaYuqlLakfac

I mentioned Ian McGilchrist's research on left and right brain hemispheres and the severe consequences of lop-sided use of left-hemisphere for far too long in human history. If interested, go to one of his talks recently: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3jMapWciNyqf5Y

I had a transformative experience in the last 6 mo., it snuck up on me, and I was able to share it with my peer counselor, as we did a session on this experience, as part of a contradiction and healing to a lot of the darker forces in and through me that want to not allow me to sense, remember and co-participate in the everyday, every moment unfolding. I sort of had a revelation of "birthday" --go to: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKelhJuAnZVgms0
