History's Side Orders: Memphis BBQ

Slow and low. That is the temp, oh. We went to Memphis, TN to try some of the best BBQ in the country and find out what separates the best from the rest.

Interstate used to be my favorite BBQ place in Memphis for decades. Unfortunately, the taste gradually changed and portions got smaller. Other BBQ places in Memphis aren't any better (just different) and Interstate is still pretty good, but it ain't what it used to be 25-years or so ago. Guess the wife says the same about me.

We just moved back to Memphis after being gone for 25 years, and I think Central will be our first stop for BBQ. For anybody from outside Memphis watching this, Rendezvous is a great place to eat, but they do not have great BBQ. Corky's is overrated, as well.

to be clear bad memphis bbq is still going to be better than good bbq somewhere else,and dont think you have just to be in memphis city limits either ,some of the best is just outside the city

I and my family have been going there since the 1990s. The only ties I've seen there are people going/leaving work or church. Maybe they'll be a pimp or two sometimes (pimps gotta eat too!). Not sure what your comment is talking about.
