İngiliz destekli Yunan işgalcilerle olan savaş ise 1. Dünya Savaşı içerisinde yer almaz. Yunanistan ile olan savaş "Kurtuluş Savaşı" içerisindedir. Bu savaş 1. Dünya savaşından hemen sonra başlamıştır. Her ne kadar Osmanlı cephelerde büyük farklarla yenilmese de (ki yenildiği çok yer vardır) birlikte olduğu ülkeler savaştan çekilince teslim olmak zorunda kalmıştır. 1. Dünya Savaşında yenilen Osmanlı'ya ağır bir antlaşma "Mondros Ateşkes Antlaşması" imzalatılmış, sonrasında ise o anki mevcut toprakları dahi alınmaya çalışılmıştır (Wilson Prensipleri'ne rağmen). Burada bir haksızlık olduğunu düşünen Atatürk ve ordudaki bazı rütbeli askerler, "Kurtuluş Savaşı" nı başlatmışlardır. Bu savaş ise 4 yıl sürmüştür. Genel olarak bakarsak, (harita biraz daha farklı ama bu da iş görür) o sırada batıda Yunanistan, güneyde Fransızlar ve İtalyanlar vardır. Doğuda Ermeniler ve İngilizler destekli gruplar vardır. Anadolu'da çıkan Osmanlı Padişahının ve İngilizlerin desteklediği Atatürk karşıtı hareketleri anlatmak ise bayağı uzun olur Balkan Savaşları, 1. Dünya Savaşı, Kurtuluş Savaşı... Atatürk'ün ömrünün yarıdan fazlası cephede geçmiştir. Onu asıl önemli kılan, kendisine hayran bırakan durum ise savaşlar bittikten sonra bir kez bile askeri üniformasını giymemesi, kurduğu devleti bir general gibi değil, bir devlet adamı gibi yönetmesidir.

It was an expulsion with harsh treatments, rather than a genocide/massacre. But it is a fair thing to say that it was a justified move then as armenians were potential threat who would not get settled by diplomatics; they had eyes on Core Turkish lands, they needed to get rooted out.
