The History Of Sub Zero/Noob Saibot - Mortal Kombat 1 Edition

Hello everyone!
And welcome back to the long awaited return of the History Of Mortal Combat series to the channel!
Now today with us all of course counting down to the exciting release of Mortal Combat 1, I though that It would only feel right to go back to the roots of the channel, and revisit the franchise the franchise that started it all for me 8 years ago... and since then a lot has happened with both myself and the franchise!
To actually break up and make more sense of the canon, (especially for newer fans and viewers of the series), this is a video that will be broken up Into two sections, this one being 'The History Of Sub Zero/Noob Saibot', which Is strictly going to be focused and based around Bi-han, his rise In a clan elite assassin and his later fall as Noob Saibot, and then a second video accompanying video called, 'The History Of Sub Zero - Tales Across The Multiverse', a video which will help cover every other version of the character, across the different numbers timelines.
So I think this will helps separate the main timeline canon from the expanded canon, also giving you all a more well rounded idea of the multiple different interruptions of Sub Zero across media!
Im also purposely only doing Bi Han today because his identity of Sub Zero Is known, were as the Identity of scorpion Is not right now.

I mean when he became noob saibot and got so much love as the shadow wraith it was bound the writers would make him lose so he would become the wraith he's loved to be. But he's lost as much if not more than scorpion being framed and losing his clan and honor and family and betrayed by Raiden and what not. He will always be the strongest, wisest, and most strategic grandmaster and sub-zero

Bi-Han was no saint but he quite possibly had the worst fate of any MK character. Deceived by Quan Chi in obtaining Shinnok’s Amulet, framed by Quan Chi for massacring Hanzo’s family and clan, gets unjustly murdered by Scorpion, then gets his soul corrupted by Quan Chi and giving him a sad but appropriate name “Noob Saibot” and gets beaten in every fight. And just to add insult to injury he gets his girl stolen by Kabal.

And Bi han accomplished way more than Kai lang. he defeated scorpion twice, the elder gods including fujin, Serena & her crew, qaun chi, shinnock & monster shinnock. He retrieved the amulet that was used by qaun chi & shinnock plus he became one of the coolest characters in the game noob saibot. I like Kai lang too, he became the grandmaster but bi Han accomplished way more

In my opinion I think scorpion in this game might be kuai liang bcuz in the lin kuei trailer, scorpion says to smoke “even though we don’t share blood, we are still brothers” and we know that kuai liang and smoke were really close friends. 7:24 I've always gotten the idea that they were never really close. In the tie in comic that released with MKII, Kuai Liang approaches Liu Kang and Johnny Cage telling them he's Sub-Zero's brother. The way he spoke of Bi-Han didn't have a trace of sorrow for his brothers death. He said something like "it's a shame, he was one of the Lin Kuei's best" and "he refused to adapt and alter his methods. Which ultimately lead to his downfall" more so lamenting the loss of a collegue than family. The relationship has always been a bit vauge. It will be nice to see them actually interacting with one another this time around.

You are the perfect example of one (Fanboy), Bihan only appeared in MK1 and Mythologies subzero, two old and limited games but in Mythologies he did incredible things, like beating 4 elemental gods including Fujin, Bihan still beat Shinnok, defeated Quan Chi, and Scorpion. And remember that Quan Chi chose the best warrior in the clan to get the amulet for him, and Bihan was chosen. But what I want to say is... Kuai Liang was Subzero in most games, Bihan only reappeared in MK9 to lose Sonya to die for Scorpion, you can't compare a character that had his development in several games with another that barely appeared and did not have its development in the plot, you will get an idea of how strong Bihan is in the new MK1 if he is not an enemy of the script like Noob saibot.

My main, Knoob! I played in the 90s and these were my favourite kind of characters. Hidden characters basically. Back then it was all school yard theories and magazine stories about these hidden characters because there was no internet like today giving you all the answers as to who and what that pure black character was with absolutely zero features like a mask or skin. All we knew was he had the last names of Ed Boon and John Tobias reversed. So when hearing things like certain characters were never meant to be in the game and were only there due to an error that they decided to later fully implement because of the hype when in fact it was all intentional from the very start was really cool in a time without internet to verify any of this. So yeah Noob, Ermac etc were all my favourites back then because of this kind of thing that they wouldn’t be able to do anymore because the internet would destroy the way little bit of information would trickle from school to school expanding the lore on our own because it wasn’t handed to us by people going through the files and uploading it all to the internet for all to know in no time at all. We were actually lucky to have lived through that time where all those secrets were kept just that, a secret until they released them as full playable characters.

I wonder how they’ll do Noob Saibot in the new era. My theory is Smoke’ll become Noob Saibot in this timeline. The characters have already been a duo in the past so I think it’ll be cool to change it so the characters are one and the same. Plus Smoke’s powers combined with Noob’s shadow powers fit really well together thematically. In MK1 aftermath if it’s real, Bi Han could kill Tomas as a massive middle finger to Kuai. Quan Chi, Shang Tsung or titan Havik believes that Tomas’s power and kill could still be useful so they perform a necromancy ritual, corrupting Tomas and turning him into Noob Saibot, turning him against his favourite brother Kuai Liang while indirectly making him an ally of Bi Han again.
