The Ottoman Empire wanted to join the war on side of Allies. The Brits didn't want that tho it is extra soldiers on their side. Plus they seized two warships made in Britain originally meant for the Ottoman navy, paid by the Ottoman Empire. Thus they understood they are not a side but the prize of the war. ie oil fields of the Middle East. So they decided to support Germans.

You do realise Australia was denied Access to having Australian commanders because British high command saw Australians as too bull headed to lead an army so we were stuck with incompetent British commanders who only got their position due to their wealth. Such as Churchill a raging alcoholic who failed in every aspect as a commander. Australia in no means was responsible for the loss at Gallipoli, it was purely the fault of British and French command. Also another fun fact that shows how badly Britain screwed over Australia in Gallipoli was how Australian military patents sent to Britain for review “went missing” and were only recognised recently.

Also most of Australia’s supplies were sent from the soldiers family members because the British struggled with logistics. We were forced to fight with outdated weapons and the modern weapons we received rarely came with ammunition because the British commanders believed it was too expensive to use. So we were forced to fight with glorified spears. While most of our soldiers were suffering from malnutrition and disease due to how bad the living and eating conditions were. Anything that wasn’t a fly or off canned meat was considered a luxury.
