I loved the way those trees were just growing right on the bridge! Nice finds.

Nice video. I know right where that road is but have never seen the bridges myself. Brings back memories of playing in the southern Michigan woods.

The larger bridge seems fairly fancy considering the location. The elevated roadway tells me that it probably was a swamp.

It was pretty swampy looking when we shot the video so I think you're right.

I love things like this. I’ve seen a couple phantom bridges a few years ago not far from where I lived but never drove down to explore them. Not sure they’re still there now. I’ve also been fascinated by old maps with previous alignments that once crossed fords. There are a couple places like that not far from me.

@@historyinyourownbackyard2363 Louisville KY area. I believe the phantom bridges were on the old Preston Highway alignment just north of Shepherdsville. They crossed Brooks Run and Blue Lick Creek.

@@historyinyourownbackyard2363 I’m near Louisville KY. I think the bridges I had seen were on the old Preston Highway (rte 61) alignment over Brooks Run and Blue Lick Creek just north of Shepherdsville.

Here in Hillsdale County, Michigan, I enjoyed taking my motorbike down every unused road I could find. There were many due to swamps and the difficulty to maintain them. During the 70's and 80's the right of ways were returned to land owners.

Look up the history of my home town in Michigan. Cohoctah township, Howell Michigan. Crazy history from Indians to the KKK. Nowadays it's just a small town. ❤

Exeter Township and it’s not the James Brown Road. If you want an interesting story look up the (NOLF) naval auxiliary landing fields in Monroe County.
