When Pakistani President and army General Ayub Khan came to know that they had Indian General Cariappa's son as POW, as a good will gesture he decided to release him. You see Ayub Khan and Cariappa were once old colleges in Pre Partition British Army. Cariappa said, there is no need to release his son as a special gesture unless he is not going to release all Indian POWs. Men of that calibre are very rarely made now!!!
