What happened at lunch table between between Manekshaw's leadership and strategic brilliance were exemplified during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. As the Chief of the Indian Army, he masterminded the military campaign that led to the liberation of Bangladesh. Under his command, the Indian forces achieved a resounding victory and established their dominance over the Pakistani army.
Known for his charismatic personality and sharp wit, Manekshaw was respected and admired by his troops and colleagues alike. His ability to connect with soldiers and instil confidence in them earned him the nickname "Sam Bahadur" (Sam the Brave).
Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw was awarded several prestigious honors for his exceptional service, including the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award in India. He retired from the army in 1973 but remained a highly respected figure in the country until his demise on June 27, 2008.
His legacy continues to inspire generations of military personnel, and he is remembered as one of the greatest military leaders in Indian history, whose strategic acumen and leadership transformed the course of the nation's history.

I wish you could give a coverage on how he survived after having multiple bullets in his body during Burmese war and how he managed to reach Madras. poorly researched article Fd Marshal Sam Manekshaw and Fd Marshal Yaha Khan both were posted at army headquarters just before the division of greater India and that time this bike incident goes back to those days. They were never from the same unit or regiment. Indians mein ye he sabse badi problem hai, inko military education, military heritage, military heroes aur military history ke baare mein nai padhaya jaata because of old nehru policy
