The Ladino Language has several names: Judeo-Spanish, Sephardic, Djudeoespanyol, Djudio, גﬞודﬞיאו־איספאנייול, џудеоеспањол, ӂудеоэспаньол, τζ̲ουδέο-εσπανιόλ, εσπανιόλ, and جوديو-اسپانيول.
In short, Ladino is the language spoken by the Jews of Spain, who, following their expulsion from the Iberian Peninsula starting at the end of the fifteenth century brought their Hebrew-infused Spanish (with elements of other Iberian languages like Catalan, Galician, Occitan, Leonese, Portuguese, and Arabic) to a whole range of locations around the Mediterranean and further afield.
