Suddenly I started hitting ball right of target, it carried on for days, thanks now I know what was going wrong. You really keep it simple.

This is a fantastic image and develops a feel of the proper downward facing right hand and wrist conditions. Especially important for those that have a tendency to flip the club at impact.

I’ve been doing this to try to eliminate flipping. Works great and gets you to use the body more. Very consistent

Thank you so much for this tip. It's funny how a tip like this can lead to a total swing fix. I didn't know, until seeing your video, that I had this problem. It only took a few swings at the driving range to see that the way I've been setting up for the last few years was the root cause. A simple change of my right elbow position at address made it easy to do your drill. In an effort to keep the elbows close to each other, throughout the swing I was setting up with my trail elbow tucked in to the front of the hip. After pointing the right elbow more to the right side of the right hip, (where it wants to go anyway) my problem was solved. Wow what a difference!! No more left and right misses. I had the course to myself this afternoon, and played a fast 18...in 2 & 1/2 hrs armed with this setup change and your drill. The result was a 79 with no birdies. My short game helps me to break 80 occasionally, but this round was all due to good ball striking.

Wow great to hear that, great playing. Glad my drill and your right elbow change helped! Keep up the good work 👍🏼

I’ve been a flipper all my golfing life , relying on timing to square up the club face with a lot of inconsistency . Too much action with arms and hands . I tried your tip with the rotation of the club handle at parallel in the downswing, with left palm facing upwards and right palm facing downwards . I noticed an immediate improvement in direction , resulting in straighter shots . Better , cleaner contact resulting in more power with less effort . The drills are important for me because that ingrained tendency to flip is hard to shake but with that noticeable improvement I’m sticking with your tips . Thank you for sharing your knowledge, it has helped me immensely.

So glad to hear my videos have helped Tommy. Keep up the drills and improvements. It’s not an easy thing to change for sure, but starting with the clubface position pre impact will definitely help!

@@TruGolfAcademy Thanks for your reply . After success with that initial tip , I tried it at the top of the backswing. With that anticlockwise rotation of the hands ending up with the right palm facing away from the target . It seemed to set the wrists at the top of the backswing, knowing that the club face will be square at impact . Bingo !! No need to manipulate the wrists in the downswing. Can you see anything that may result negatively with this approach ? It seems to work for me , even though it feels weird . Cheers .

I started watching all the greats. The pattern seems to be this: backswing: on top, then on side at the top. Downswing: on side down, on top at and through impact.

For me this feeling is a game changer. It allows for solid contact, body rotation (lower body leading), square clubface and a shot that typically produces a draw.

I love this, for me It feels Just perfect, the thing tho is It doesnt looks right, ALL videos on the internet you get a way more around the body backswing, for me feels like my body is working around, but the club is working up, and not around...

Great feel to stop an open clubface and make you fire your body quicker.

Hi. When you turn and swing through do you apply right palm pressure to push the club down or pull with left hand down or simply rotate body. I have terrible chicken wing and I hope this drill can help eliminate that also. Thanks so much. Mo (Hong Kong).

If trying to close the clubface more, trail palm down at p6 (club shaft parallel in the downswing) would be great. I wouldn’t think about the left hand down as ideally the hands would be rising into impact from this P6 position

I tried it in driving range but a lot of chunking at first. Then gradually adjust my palm for less face-down and everything become so good. It's good drill but need time to fine tune.

Do i need to clear hips first before i hit with right palm?
@TruGolfAcademy
@TruGolfAcademy 3 жыл бұрын
The downswing should start ground up so hips before upper body. We accelerate and revelatory areas but I wouldn’t advocate people focusing on it. I like the hips to be back to address position by halfway down and then open at impact.

Does this apply to pitch shots as well? If not, do you have a respective trail hand feel for pitches?
@TruGolfAcademy
@TruGolfAcademy 14 күн бұрын
Full pitch shots yes, shorter shots (within 50) you would potentially want more loft and activate the bounce angle. Which would be more trail thumb on top, palm facing more in front of you. 👍🏻

If i push/block shots doing this it is because of too little rotation in the down swing correct?
