That's definitely impressive getting elbow to rim at 5'10. I'm also mostly Asian just a bit taller at 6'0, around 8ft standing reach but most I've ever been able to get was middle of forearm to rim or around an 11ft touch which was likely a few inches away from getting a windmill. Haven't trained in over a decade but it seems like with the explosion in training methods readily available, so many people are finding ways to break 40 inch verticals.
@keanulime2 ай бұрын
@@stevelau7694 thanks! i bet you couldve hit a windmill if you really dialed in your technique, ive heard of people windmilling and even only touching 10’10
@stevelau76942 ай бұрын
@@keanulime Probably but the only reason I trained vertical was since I kept playing pick up basketball when I was in College from 2008-2011in between classes that gave me an incentive to actually train to jump higher and got up to a solid 36 inch vertical after around 3 years, a solid gain of around 12 inches. Really stopped training after that since I never had a group of guys to regularly play with which I feel is the most important factor. Just felt like it was very difficult to bring a full sized ball all the way around as it's very heavy and even when I get enough height, can't really fully palm it so it will back rim. They simply didn't have short rims at the campus gym to work on technique. I know T Jass could Windmill and it looked like he could barely get above the rim for regular dunks. Just turned 40 now and feel like to get to an elite vertical, you need an absolute reason to do it whether it is for a sport or having a close circle with other guys who also train unless you have a gym at home or at work.

I'm 5'11 grabbing rim, I really wanna get my first dunk this year. Is there any specific workouts that helped you get your vertical so high? Anything you can recommend for me to do? Great video btw and the windmill and reverses were sick 🔥
