I dont know what kind of comment section you are looking at but a lot of people were there for the live so we interacted with him on what we learned and heard or not.

Earlier in the comments section pretty much a majority of the comments were lists of song requests. Perhaps most of the interaction was in the live chat and i simply missed it this time, but i do remember in one of the earlier lives that everyone in the chat was just dropping song requests too so just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not like that. Anyway i'm not here to argue. Good for you that you were able to join in the discussions during the live. As for me who couldn't catch it on time, i was hoping for some in the comments section but there weren't any which is why i commented in the first place. Peace. Have a good day.

That is the reason why EXO songs are very interesting. Nevermind the lyrics cause I can't understand their language but they have a very powerful and captivating music. Strong, unique and creative background music mixed with their powerful vocals plus the harmonies and runs makes it perfect for me. Boybands like Westlife, Nsync, and Bsb have strong background music before, too.

Yes I agree. sometimes it happens that one singer sings the lead voice then he records and stack harmonies for the layering. But sometimes it happens that more vocalist harmonize depending on how the producer wants it because a different tonal quality harmonies are good to hear. It always has purpose.

Thank you so much for appreciating Xiumin's voice in the melody, also Chanyeol's rap! I agree that he has good inflection and flow, but a lot seem to not appreciate that because they tend to be more surprised with his baritone vocals. Over-all exo's discography is filled with crazy harmonies and this is one of my absolute favorites. Hope you could check out their songs Gravity, Groove, and Ooh Lalala as well. I learned a lot from your analysis as a musician myself. More power to you sir!

There’s actually a video on this where the producer LDN noise showed the raw vocals. As far as I remember, the backing vocals of each member are also created by their own voices. Kind of same with EXO’s Monster and Damage as well.

wow! i'm not sure if you'll see this as i have come across this video so late but exo's forever is one of my favourite songs. i love it because of the way it plays around with the key in the chorus (almost sounds dorian??) and the fakeouts into the final chorus from the bridge! i used to study music but have long stopped now so have always wanted to hear more in depth analysis of this song... imagine my luck coming across this today, and for 50 minutes nonetheless!! 😭😭 this is genuinely a dream video for me so thank you so much for making it!

Theres alot of reason's why i really love this channel, be it i used to watch lucifer when i was back in high school and your band's song Power was one of my favorite songs and it blows my mind im here now watching EXO song breakdowns from you. Exo is the kpop band that opened my ears to kpop back in 2018 with TEMPO. Another thing that still blows my mind is the fact that i love the new girl group Aespa for their switchups especially showcased more in their latest song Next level which you were a part of creating, and one of the reason why i do like it is because it reminded of EXO's many songs mainly b-side tracks that have alot of melody switchups yet they always somehow pull it off. Its like you listening to a mashup of two or three songs yet its actually one original song :) i also want to thank you for not just breaking down my favorite kpop group's songs, but as well as your appreciation for EXO's LEAD vocalists Xiumin and Suho during 36:55 because the MAIN vocalists tend to shine more in their chorus and sometimes we forget to also fully appreciate our lead vocalists who also brings more hidden flavors to their songs especially their b-side tracks. Exo's rappers are Sehun and Chanyeol and they are EXO's second sub-unit called EXO-SC created back in 2019 summer and all their songs are produced by Chanyeol and his studio team with the help of their friend and older rapper Gaeko from Dynamic Duo. They both showcase their singing skills there as well :) Sorry for the long comment but just wanted to share my thoughts and appreciation.

I think around 2017 or 2018 the producers of "Forever", LDN Noise, went to a KPOP convention in the US, where they broke down the layers that went into the song production: from every vocal to sound bit, or as you say, sonic information. Of course the fans there went nuts hearing the filtered vocals of the members. They told fans why they chose to put a sound in one section or prioritize the vocal or top line, and explained a bit of the "hows" that go into music production, especially the kpop industry. Thanks for another breakdown! It’s so awesome how you point out and pick up the harmonies. I’m an alto (not a professional singer though lol) so my ears usually go for the harmonies but I don’t always hear all the notes. Also never noticed the bass you pointed out around 41:00. It’s very low. Hope you can eventually check out EXO’s Bad Dream. It would be interesting to see what you hear cause the harmonies there are good.

The pan sound will always be one of my fave on songs. Coz it tickles my ears whenever the sound pans from one ear to the other. If you can actually hear on the rap part their is like an adlib but kinda distorted and its sehun’s voice. Much like a mechanical sound even.
