I process medical claims for a major car insurance company. I read the triages of the office visits and the emergency room evaluations. These people have their bodies maimed by some of these accidents. Chronic pain, surgeries and needing to be on medication for life. Needing injections to relieve their pain. Not to mention all of the poor mental health outcomes that are created from the accidents. Driving is not a joke. Being on the road where my family and friends use daily is not a venue to make content. People really get hurt and die in accidents. It really made my blood boil to see how blasé they were about risking other human beings lives and livelihoods for clout. They should be banned from driving in New York.

The dude driving is wanted. The cops have chased him down multiple times and haven't caught him. Even with helicopters. It's entertaining to some, but even the drivers who do stuff like this are fully aware that it is not worth the risk. They do it anyway. This is the thing about the nature of driving; if you keep driving like that, one day it will catch up to you. You might think it won't, but it will. And it will be a brutal reality check. I cannot believe people can treat something as seriously dangerous as driving so irresponsibly. Irresponsible is dramatically putting it lightly. Its dangerous. I bumped someone's car a couple of weeks ago, and there was a child and an elderly man in the car. They weren't hurt since it was a small bumping, and there was no damage to either of our cars. But i felt like shit for being the cause of the bumping, and i felt shameful for letting it happen at all. Driving isn't a game. As an engineer for a highway contractor, this makes me very upset. Reckless and distracted driving is the biggest danger me and my guys experience. Roadway employees die every year due to this. My project did a safety standdown about this last month. My family is always worried I might be out in the field at the wrong place at the wrong time. It's serious. We know people hate following traffic rules, especially in workzones, but it's a minor inconvenience to protect lives. I seriously hope everyone involved in this incident faces legal and civil action.

On the original stream, the driver was waving him to pass more than 5 times and he was risking a ton only to end up behind Squeeze Benz at which point he was waiving him to get back in front. As someone who loves cars and driving them fast when it's safe to do so - people like this are the reason and justification for stricter and stricter rules, more and more state tracking and more car-integrated controls (the cops being able to stop your car if you are running - that tech is already patented and manufacturers can't wait to integrate it). Same with bikers who remove their plates and run from cops. Reminds me of the Jim Jefferies bit - "I would love to have no restrictions at all, but we as a society have to walk as slow as our slowest members". This is what people think I do when I say I'm against lowering speed limits in some places when the same streets have been rearranged with pedestrian crossing islands, bike lanes instead of parking, a bunch of extra road marking and more on a major road. The street was faster with plenty of road hazards and now that all the hazards are gone it still needs to be lower speeds ?
