"Hit the Ice" - Turbo Views 4 (TurboGrafx-16 / Duo game REVIEW!)

Revisited this one today. I’m just going back through my TG16 games I haven’t played much of or had a poor opinion of the first time I played it. This one was fun for me. Yes the voices are garbled, but the core arcade experience is still there and fun. Hard to say which hockey game I prefer, this or TV Sports Hockey. I think I like both equally, but I have more nostalgia for TV Sports Hockey as that is what I had growing up. Still, the character personality and the variety of each character’s stats is enjoyable here and ultimately I like the arcade feel of this game over TV Sports Hockey.

@ffryan Ha ha. Yeah, totally. I had the SNES one as well and that one was such a better representation of the arcade version (larger characters, controls a tiny bit more solid, and speech / music up-to-par). :) Thanks for watching!!

It was a fun game but not like NBA Jam was Super Fun.

Well....I did not play the Genesis version myself. However, I did play the Super NES port (which was released at the same time) and it is a superior version to the TurboGrafx one. So, I have to imagine the Genesis one is similar to the Super NES version and I would probably recommend that one first before trying the Turbo one.....

Great review as always spida1a ! Is the Sega Genesis port of this game better than the Turbo version ? Have you ever played it Chris ? I enjoy this version of it a lot. But, if the Genesis version is even better, I'm thinking about getting it ! Take care man !

MM is a great strategy game. I enjoy that one. I'm not the "best" when it comes to strategy stuff, but it made everything nice and clear-cut. You know? I loved it.

@spida1a I had the SNES version too and don't remember any of the criticisms that are with this one. It took me a second to figure it out but when he started talking about the "why I oughta" voice I remember that SNES' played it loud and clearly.
