I must say your reviews of old tg16 bring me back to a great time in my life. I am 8 and 16 bit crazy! todays games are great but so many gems are lost out there. I'm glad that you do what you do... I'd prob. be doing it if you weren't already. I don't know how you find the time. I'm 38 yrs old and I feel that no other generation other than mine can truely appreciate every era of video gaming. You need to know where you've been to know where you're at! You are a true CLASSIC!

I never played the first one, but I had Neutopia II, and I must say, there doesn't seem to be any difference other than the levels. Graphics, items and weapons seem to be the exact same! Great game. But one thing I hated was how when you get hit you get fired back.

I had a lot of fun beating both Neutopia games ! I just wish Hudson Soft made a third Neutopia game. Especially after the way the second game ended ! Oh well, I guess 2 is better than none ! Great review spida1a ! You're the best !

... sigh ... what fond memories I had of this one. I often regretted buying the turbo grafx 16 instead of the competition, however, this game WAS a gem. I spent hours lost inside this one. What nostalgia. Great game.

Yeah, I agree. Although, I thoroughly enjoyed Castlevania Rebirth. I'll have to see about Blaster Master. I always enjoyed the original. :)

I wouldn't mind a Neutopia III. Not at all. Then again, I'm up for almost anything that has been remade (Konami totally rules with their Contra and Castlevania re-structures). :)

Played through Neutopia, LoZ and Link to the Past. Link to the Past is the best by far, and Neutopia is a lot harder than LoZ with both games feeling quite similar.

All Princess's should say that after being saved, heh heh! Yeah, gamers may dismiss Neutopia since it looks so much like Zelda but it plays so well that you can't help loving it. Great review man!

Obviously I loved Neutopia. Neutopia 2 I could NEVER find when I was a kid (it was one of the bunch that I didn't have growing-up). So, I don't have very much play on it and am actually looking forward to digging into it for an in-depth review sometime. ;) Thanks as always my friend!

You can use the "password" on the Turbo Express, yes. You just won't have the internal memory to save it automatically. It's a looooooong password as well. Ugh!

I played the sequel to this. Not a bad series. My big complaint is someone in marketting clearly said "secrets everywhere will give longer play times!" Though most have nothing useful in them, there a hidden area on almost every screen in the sequel, and there are usually no items, save points, or useful advice or tips in any of them. Not even any narrative to give more content. That's my only huge complaint. It feels like the games want to waste your time.

The game does look like a cheap knock-off of Zelda. But it does look kinda cool. Those weapons do look awesome. Keep those reviews coming.

Personally, while I like remakes, some of the Wii Ware remakes have been hit or miss. Castlevania Rebirth was a good idea, but I didn't like it as much as the other 16 bit games. Haven't played Contra Rebirth, but it looks cool, so I should get that. Are you getting Blaster Master Overdrive (the Blaster Master semi-sequel remake)?

I tried to get into this game I really did. My biggest issues? The enemies are a bit boring, especially compared to the game that it's obviously trying to emulate. Also, it doesn't control as well, and I thought the music was a bit grating. Maybe I'm just too nostalgic for Nintendo's original...

I love this game, But never finished it. The thing is, I got to the last world and accidentally erased my game. That was NOT cool!

I'm going to have to disagree with some of your assessments here. Now, I was a Genesis kid growing up that also owned an Snes. I missed the TG-16 but I'm now finally catching up... When Netopia hit the first Zelda was the premiere top down game of its kind. Yes, there were other games trying to sfeal a bjt of Links thunder like Golden Axe Warrior for the Master System. Unlike the other pretenders Netopia did it right. For its time it had graphics that were amazing, sound that was decent, and mechanics that not only matched the first Zelda but blew it away. After all Zelda by this point was nearing 5 years old.

An enhanced rip off of Zelda eh? lol, sounds like I could have some good fun out of this. '3' I remember not too long ago, playing another LoZ rip for the PS3 called "3D Dot Game Heroes", and for a while that game was fun, especially since I could create my own hero completely manually, a trait I perfer much more than customization options found in games like LittleBigPlanet or Blinx 2. Oh well, that aside, I have plenty of spare Wii points, so I may consider checking this game out. :)
