Good evening Jan. Hitachi are good power tools!! Air tools too! Seems like intermittent issues like that are usually a broken wire in the cord.

Yes That is very true and frustrating to pin point to the problem on the cord, this was quite easy

It's lucky the molded end of the cord could be moved! Nice find Jan. I bet that broken wire heated quite a bit when the drill was run under load for any longer times. On the sander - a bushing problem? Take care.

I have a number of Hitachi (now Metabo) power tools. Mine are old enough to be pre made in China. They are very good power tools.
