@@cugezfringkey6924 Hi man. No I don’t have one currently. You can buy one online cheap enough. There is a website that sells machine manuals for almost everything if you google them. Goodluck 👍🏼

Hello , just wondering would you know the rough cost of getting somebody to do this job? dipper cylinder on mine is weeping a good bit especially when warmed up. wee bit leaks around the slew ring too. Would like to take it on myself going off this video if I had to but also might be easier to pay a man
@connormcmahon37249 ай бұрын
It would realistically cost you in the region of 500 to €1000 I think.That’s only a rough guess as prices are constantly changing and would be if you took it off yourself and brought it to a shop to be done. A call out will cost you a lot more and if there is any damage to the cylinder rod itself it will cost you more too. If you haven’t done this work before I would advise taking it off (if you can) and taking it to a cylinder rebuilding specialist. Goodluck 👍🏼
@mf35xx9 ай бұрын
@connormcmahon3724 cheers for that I'll take the cylinder off probably using the mini digger. She's an ex120-3 ... probably is worth fixing then the rest aren't leaking but probably not far behind 🤣 only bought her for a self build wish I knew more about them beforehand. One side tracking is quite weak aswell and had basically no oil when i drained it. We had to put all new rollers too was a full day job. Not sure what the tracking issue is.

60 euros? I just bought the kit for my arm cylinder, same model Hitachi ex120-2 and it was $450. And it didn’t include the 4 wear rings on either side of the Teflon seal.
@connormcmahon37243 жыл бұрын
Wow that’s crazy, the kits can be got from M&S plant spares in Ireland, I’m sure they would ship worldwide but I don’t know how much duty you would have to pay on the parts. Yes I think maybe it was around that plus another 20 or 30 for the end bush. But altogether equivalent of no more than around $120 I think
@northmanlogging27693 жыл бұрын
DId you buy them from the stealership? cause they be crooks about this stuff
@ChrisPBacon-yz6nk3 жыл бұрын
@@northmanlogging2769 unfortunately, yes. But I found a different place for the wear rings and he told me he could’ve gotten the kit for $180. I have a main boom cylinder starting to leak and I’ll get the next one from the new guy.
@northmanlogging27693 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisPBacon-yz6nk dealer near me quoted $800, for the main boom cylinders... each..., plus labour, online I can get a kit for all 4 cylinders for $500... then the dealer says some BS about "grey market machines" yet they are identical to the Deere 490e's... I stopped going to that dealer.
@ChrisPBacon-yz6nk3 жыл бұрын
@@northmanlogging2769 Haha, they fed me the same line of bullshit. We must be going to the same dealer. Lol

Hi Conor , great video. Could i ask you question . Was workin my Fh130 tday , 1997 model. Stopped the engine an beeping alarm went off coming from behind the seat and a warning light came up on dash.wont start now , i let it cool down but still when i go to start it starts alarming again Had to turn off deadman to stop alarm .Jus wondering did that ever happen your old digger you had?? Thanks
@connormcmahon37243 жыл бұрын
Hi Gareth, thanks for watching. That sounds strange but I would start by trying to find the alarm sounder, it’s a possibility that it is an old aftermarket immobiliser or something like that giving trouble. If it looks like it isin’t then I would be looking into what causes that particular light on the dash if you can find the fault list for it. Then get it plugged into the computer to see if there is any unhealthy systems showing fault codes! Best of luck👍🏻

Well conor , my tracks are gone sluggish on the hitachi fh130.3 . Its worse on one side an gets worse as oil heats up. Everything else is working fine. Do you think it might be the seals gone on the distributor box that goes down the middle of machine??TIA
@ferguson20diesel492 жыл бұрын
We call it a wiper seal down our way. Scraper doesn’t sound right.
@connormcmahon37242 жыл бұрын
You would be right too, it’s also called a dust seal by some as it’s supposed to stop contaminant’s getting into the cylinder and ruining the oil over time. Thanks for watching and the comment.
@ferguson20diesel492 жыл бұрын
Connor McMahon that’s true. Was at a Poclain ram today. Was no wiper seal left at all. Peculiar internals. Had to make 3 groves bigger to accommodate newer seals
@ChrisPBacon-yz6nk3 жыл бұрын
The two u-seals that go inside the gland, do both of them go in with the open side facing the cylinder end?
@connormcmahon37243 жыл бұрын
I presume you mean the white lip seals? Yes the open side of the seal or inside of the U would need to face inside or towards the cylinder barrel itself to hold back the oil from escaping as such if that makes sense.
@ChrisPBacon-yz6nk3 жыл бұрын
@@connormcmahon3724 makes perfect sense. When I tore this one apart, one was facing in and the one was facing out. It was done at a shop a few years back and I guess they wankered it up. It seemed odd to me but thought maybe it was right. That’s why it started leaking though. I’m in the US and the dealer prices are ridiculous. Thank for the video. It was a great help. I don’t know how you lifted that rod by yourself. I guess you’ve been drinking your pints.
@connormcmahon37243 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisPBacon-yz6nk Yea sounds like it, make sure to keep everything very in line while putting back together, very easy to nip a seal or Packer when getting the piston back into to cylinder. Yea that’s crazy, I knew they were expensive but didn’t think it would be that price for parts! Haha no definitely not pints, more like a small bit of stupidity! I will be putting a crane in my new shop hopefully someday soon! Goodluck with the build!
@oby-16072 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisPBacon-yz6nk Usually one seal faces in(closest to the cylinder) in and the other out and this is to create a seal in both directions. Part of the seals job is to keep dirt/debris out as well as keep oil in. The wiper/scraper seal keeps most of the garbage out, but if they fail then you have to rebuild.
